Exploits in PVP

Currently in Az Star on the PS4 we have several Daggerfall players that have left the campaign (they are in the top 10) and they've made EP alts. They're allowing their friends on Daggerfall to teleport through doors to keeps, they're also grabbing the scrolls whenever possible and then taking it towards the Daggerfall side. Several Daggerfall are 'escorting' the scroll, killing any EP that try to get to the scroll. This means that EP have no way of getting the scroll off the Daggerfall player that is now using a EP alt.

They've obviously been reported, but this sort of thing is going to be so much easier when the plan to allow people to use all their alts on the same campaign regardless of alliance comes into place. I get that it provides a way for people to play with friends etc but this is going to become all more common

I love this game and I think so many changes have been great, but the alliance swapping change is just going to harm it.

I know a lot of people have characters on multiple alliances. Understand it is an option that has existed in the game and "to each his own" - but it makes me sick and I don't get it. Seems like a real game wrecker sometimes and i can't understand how they left this option available considering all the ways it could turn toxic... 3 Vet AD characters. 4 the Dominion, 4 life!

Add Mercenary, Loyal, and Pacifist system. Its quite simple, if you need gold you play as Mercenary, and are sent to low pop alliance. Loyalist are the finest warriors of your faction and should be rewarded, and Pacifist is just for carebears and should be rewarded as well.

This kind of thing has been gong on on PC for over a year and a half.

Sorry guys, but ZOS doesn't care enough to do anything about it.

I don't see why ZOS don't monitor this kind of stuff. It's incredibly frustrating and reminds me of when that player, you will remember dylan, jumped 150,000 alliance points in a couple days. Was a blatant exploit that literally made some dedicated players quit the game considering how much time they had invested into earning emporership.

It seems to be becoming more and more common place. Pretty bad call on ZOS's part.

It was bad enough when spies and low rank toons were running marking those in stealth were the common tactics.

It is now common to see players helping other alliances leap into keeps and purposely siege blocking to render defenses less optimal (not that siege is worth a damn until fixed anyway).

If they are also stealing scrolls and what not, then it has gotten completely out of control and really needs to be fixed. I love fair competition, and this is anything but fair or competitive. It is childish antics by immature...

And for those who say "this is war, and war has spies and double agents", well, this is true. However, in real life, being a spy or double agent carries with it extreme risk. There is no risk for such behavior in the game, so it is a moot point.

ZOS, please reconsider and implement some machanism(s) to deter such behavior

Oh, you play for the campaign? How cute

- Forward camp trolling when these were in the game (placing them at inconvenient locations but close enough to prevent other camps, given their huge radius);
- Forward camp hoarding in EU between ZOS taking them out of the game in NA and the EU maintenance;
- Low population bonus exploits flipping the scoreboard of a 30-day campaign in the last 1 or 2 days several times;
- Players pulling friends up to keep walls using chains (now fixed);
- Players standing at the edge of keep walls allowing friends to dragon leap to them;
- Etc.

I have NEVER heard anything about ZOS taking action in any of these cases. And this is only the part about player behaviour, on top of that you have bugs and lag. This is why I haven't PvP'd in almost a year except to grind IC sewers, but I'm done with that too now.

because the game is free, the only thing of real importance is creating that new shiny thing in the crown store to sell, and to keep the game servers up.

fixing bugs is important too because if people can`t play, they won`t buy stuff in the crown store so they don`t get paid.

However, people letting lvl 10`s farm their naked vet 16 toons for exp/AP , trading scrolls, and cheating with macros isn`t important.

Zenimanx doesn't care. Move to a new game if you want a fair competition they don't care enough about their playerbase to do anything

So what exactly do you guys want Zenimax to do about this? As long as players have the freedom to play more than one alliance what exactly can they do to stop such player-induced issues? Unless it's a bannable offense, which I doubt, there honestly is nothing they can do... Even if they manage to fix the issue where you can use gap closers to scale keeps and such people will still find a way to keep this up.

Basically the same thing happening at the arena district you might as well say people from other alliances are letting other's kill them on purpose I think they are boosting there are even member's from you own alliance that will just stand there and watch at first I thought they was just there dueling now I think not they are boosting off each other if you as me standing around letting each other kill each other

Normally ZOS have stood up against this and given warnings over it. I would guess keep making reports in the hopes they actually see one and look into it.

As confirmation of this one of our guild members when drunk once took a scroll and started running it towards the DC keeps and saying in zone "I am giving it back to them lololol" or something. Eventually he stopped messing around and put the scroll in one of our keeps.

Next morning he had a email from ZOS (to go with his hangover) warning him he would be banned if he continues to troll in such a fashion he could face an account ban.

Seriously tho the arena district shows how they are exploiting boosting off each and and now I see they are letting each other claims keeps this is ridiculous makes pvp not even worth playing if people are going to cheat like this

Agreed, I don't expect the game to be 100% fair, I just wish obvious cheating which impacts on a large amount of players is dealt with.

They trade emperor and everything. Why do you think the leader is always like 100,000 points above everyone else? The opposite alliance feeds him kill after kill until he's got a huge lead. Every part of pvp is pretty much scripted

There have been bans in the past for exploiting in PvP, a number of members of a well known guild on the EU PC servers had a temporary ban for running around in safe zones (bases) and causing havoc.

Just make sure what you're reporting is actually an exploit (broken skills are not considered this), if you can get video or screenshot evidence, and report it to ZOS with a calm and rational explanation. Hopefully something gets done.

Be aware however that over the time of the games release it's been rare to see players banned for a lot of the things that happen in PvP, generally the trolling has to reach a very high level or impact masses of players to gain attention.

Lastly ZOS are not able to talk about any actions they take so you won't get a confirmation anywhere (unless they rant on forums/reddit) that a ban actually took place.

Lastly tagging @ZOS_GinaBruno and @ZOS_JessicaFolsom in hopes they can pass this thread along to the GM staff for investigation.

BrianWheeler has already stated running the scroll to an opposite factions control is fair play

As for the actual exploits people are doing..... GG. Been barking up that tree for people to get banned for abusing them (those people are still here)since I began PvP (been playing since beta) and for them to get fixed(exploits still here).

Just switch to a non scroll campaign... i know its so stupid though, i dont get what the point of cheating is. Sucks there really is NO WAY to stop it

I don't care what Brian Wheeler says is fair everyone knows it's not fair. It just goes to prove he should not be in charge because he is completely out of touch with the game. I don't want people to even get bans I just want them to stop and play fair. If it's a scrolls server and they are running the scrolls to the enemy it's completely game breaking.

Any character going against their faction should be killable. This should be a valid way to play the game, the ability to go against your faction, but there should also be consequences for it. They should be killable and there should be a faction wide alert to inform everyone of the traitor and possibly a bounty placed on their head until its collected or after a certain period of time.

So then we should be able to stop our own team if they do that. The issue is people creating characters for that purpose and us having no way to stop it.

Wheeler is 100% mistaken then. That is a ridiculous statement to make. I know it's obviously just a game, and some people like screwing around, but if the developers don't take their own game more seriously than that, people are going to stop investing time into playing it.

Oh, but they ARE able to talk about them. They just won't do it, keeping any rules on actionable behaviour fuzzy.

IMHO they NEED to publicise disciplinary actions. Even if they don't name names. Just say x people were banned/temp banned for y behaviour.

But hey, it's their game, their rules. I gave up on PvP and I know I'm not the only one.
