This has been asked for many times but I have never seen a positive response of "this will happen..." This was truly a blessing when Destiny added this to the game. From my understanding of it, it was not something that was too challenging to add into the game. Once the feature was added, it was a simple click to lock it and a click to unlock it. LOVED IT!
The amount of Hakeijos I've sold to vendors (by a lot, I mean 3, which is 3 more than there should have been), undaunted monster sets I've unintentionally deconstructed, gear that a friend just crafted for me deconstructed.....
There are so many reasons a lock on items/gear would be so much safer and desirable.

As for deconstructing your friend's crafted items you get more inspiration than normal doing that
One of many LOTRO features I miss here (Just click the little Lock icon. Easy!), but then I'm not a fan of much of the ESO interface. Such a pain at times. I've lost count of the number of unintentional decons I've done. I'd love to replace the entire ESO interface with a "normal" MMO interface. Including movement. Ugh!LaucianNailor wrote: »Lord of the Rings online had this years ago, so technically not an issue I would hope in 2015.

No, not the case. Most items I've accidentally sold or deconstructed, unintentionally, don't stand out enough. Slow down? To what pace? I don't spend hours at crafting stations, in capital cities or reading every line of text in quest dialogue. I have limited play time during the week, so I intend to use that small window to get as much done as possible.
I'm sorry, but this is a lazy answer. "I don't have this problem, therefore your desire to have this feature is moot". Most other MMOs/RPGs have a locking system or at least a "prompt" to let you know you're about the "destroy/sell" something of value. Enchanting runestones, heck, most gear text/icons resemble each other and are too small to visually tell the difference.
A locking system provides a luxury that is not game breaking and you'll find a large percentage of the player base would be more than happy to have it.As for deconstructing your friend's crafted items you get more inspiration than normal doing that
What does this...? All my crafts are at Rank 50. Let me reiterate since I was obviously not clear enough....
"...gear that a friend crafted for me that I intend on using for my PvP/PvE endeavors, deconstructed"
It used to be easy enough on my main because he's v16, so everything I actually wanted was either gold or purple, so I could immediately get rid of anything blue or below. Then they made it so you could get Undaunted shoulder pieces in blue from Silver Key chests. I'm not complaining! but it means I have to look at all the blue items as well now.UltimaJoe777 wrote: »Or you're just doing things way too fast lol

Yep, had a bit of a failed Vet White-Gold Tower run today, was up ridiculously late, and clicked "Destroy" instead of "Repair" on my v16 gold Greaves enchanted with a Hajeiko triple glyph! Fortunately there was a prompt to ask if I really wanted to do that. Phew.anyone else notice that if you go to repair an item you are wearing the first thing you can click on is destroy!!!!!! WTF
