Once and for all pick up your leftover crawlies and worms!

This shouldn't even be a topic. A few worms and crawlers use up ONE slot in your inventory. If you don't need them destroy them after you reach 200. Or sell them for gold in the Guild Store. But for crying out loud stop being inconsiderate and think of your player buddies for once in a while.

Thats NOT too much to ask.

Thank you for your business. lmao

    LOL

Well, for those who don't think bait is worth much, I can confirm that I have on numerous occasions paid 3,000 gold for a stack of worms or guts. (I can't bear to kill the little animals that give guts, they make such sad lil squeaks and it makes me sad).

Take worms. Fish in sea. Get occasional perfect roe. Profit.
Take worms. Go to guild store. Put up for sale. Wait. Profit.

Where is the problem if some fool leaves you the worms again? ;)

What people need to realize is by not taking Worms/Crawlers they leave the node unable to respawn which can hinder their own gathering if they happen to circle back to that same spot.

    Common sense, people...

Player solution: Just take the Worms/Crawlers, let them stockpile, and destroy them all at once later.
Dev solution: Make it so nodes respawn after a certain period of time after they have been accessed. For example, if a player goes to gather a node, accesses the window that shows what is in the node, takes nothing, and leaves the node would then respawn in let's say 5 minutes, simply because it was accessed. This would also fix the issue in Cyrodiil and Wrothgar where people find things like Maple in Nightwood (yes this was never a bug, just someone attempting to harvest and didn't take the goods).

Another solution would be to have anything left in the container (and this would include chests because yep, they function exactly the same way - if someone doesn't take everything out of a chest, it sits there until someone comes along and does so) after it's been accessed be deleted so the container will despawn appropriately and can then respawn.

I also confess to being completely baffled that people aren't using auto-loot. The idea of having to take the time to individually loot every resource node? OMG, people, WHY? Why would you do that? Even before I bought a lot of inventory space, I used auto-loot. It's one of the first things I turn on in any game I play. I sort through stuff after I get back to a town, not while I'm out exploring or questing.

Auto-Loot is for more than nodes you know lol and when your inventory is almost full you definitely want to be able to choose what you take instead of let the game choose for you.

Can ZoS confirm that any of this is true? I don't think anyone is 100% certain that nodes with trash items don't eventually respawn. This may be a misconception that is taken for granted b/c someone just came up behind someone else that took only the "good part" of the node. Has anyone ever been able to leave a garbage node sit long enough to actually see if it respawns. Due to so many other farming players, it may be next to impossible. BTW nodes do not respwan in random locations. If you farm a node then wait long enough it will respawn in the same location. And no, I don't leave behind bait when I farm nodes. Actually quite the opposite, I clean them up. I just never thought it was this big a deal.

I seen a post on these forums before where someone claimed to have tested this and said respawn timers remained the same for the clothing mat regardless of whether the bait was harvested. Read it a long time ago so can't link the post. Maybe I'll test it myself tonight.

You're being sarcastic, right? If not, it's just bad form. Kind of like putting your garbage cans out for collection two days before pickup or wearing a wife beater at a fancy restaurant. Anyone is free to do so, but it's just tacky lol.

I think this same player that stole a Aspect Rune out from under me while I was fighting a mob. Literally out from under me as I was standing on top of it while fighting the mob. Sadly, I couldn't get the mob to hit him. I wish I could've hit him but it was a pve zone. Skeleton Polymorph sounds familiar...I contemplated following him and grabbing a rune or something from him but I thought better of it. That's not my style, I don't steal from other players no matter how much of a [snip] they are.

    p.s. I snipped myself...

Man this reminds me of back in Beta before they implemented auto-loot.

It's kind of amazing some people still haven't turned auto-loot on. Like, why? Just destroy the worms after you auto-loot a stack, sheesh.

Ok slightly off-topic perhaps - but the deal with the crazy worm prices? It's 100x easier to get guts or crawlers and then use the fishing spots inland for the perfect roe.

The worms are bought by people trying to farm the angler achievement rather than the folks farming roe. Anyone farming the roe using worms is nuts!

Yep, auto loot is much much faster and allows you to basically loot mob corpses on the run. I can't wait until I get the quick harvesting champion perk which will cut the time down even more

Exactly. I never use worms unless I'm specifically going for a certain type of ocean fish ( or the new purple Wrothgar super slaughterfish :)

If I'm farming roe I use insect parts all the way

If Ancestor Silk nodes weren't so scarce this wouldn't be an issue, but they're ridiculously hard to find. It's sad to see today people acting like a**holes like this.

If it was me, I would accept every ticket reporting such kind of player and suspend their account for a while, regardless how many time he/she pays or how many crowns he/she buy.

But unfortunately, there is too much effort focused in things that requires little attention, week after week. Meh...

It is simply common courtesy to take the worm and crawlers when you farm a node.

It doesn't even matter if you keep them, burn them, fish with them or trash them. Nothing is more annoying than coming over to pick a flower for your alchemy/guild store only to find out that all you get is fish bait that you don't want.

I am one that takes the worms, too, with the Ancestor Silk node ... worms can be used for bait.

Big picture, though ... how often does a player: (1) find an Ancestor Silk node, and (2) find a node that has already been looted of the Silk but no worms, and (3) find the previous player that used the node, and (4) is sure the player didn't have a full inventory or other explanation?

Nodes related to Alchemy and Clothing can yield Crawlers and Worms as well as the Material. If you take just the Material and leave the bugs the node will not vanish and thus cannot respawn. Anyone that swings by later will then only see the bugs left behind.
