console version falling behind?

so ive noticed a trend with the dlc's and updates they have gotten father and father apart with each one IC update pc and console were a week apart, orsinium pc and console were 2 and half weeks apart, now the major fix update for loads and other bugs pc got like a week and a half ago console wont get it till mid December I understand it take time to submit patches to Microsoft and sony for approval but it seems like they could work around that and just plan a release date around it. im just worried it will lead to console falling father and father behind.

also just saying even though I get because they have to submit patch they would rather bundle as much together for big patch on console but things like long load time and major updates need to happen sooner they should be there own small update if need be it is a game breaking feature and making console wait a month cuss its more convenient for you is not cool sorry for the rant :/

I imagine it's a technical issue. ie: they've found they need that window so they can address bugs and errors on one platform, before releasing it on others. They only have a limited number of support staff and devs to hand, releasing on all platforms at once would be chaos for them, and I guess they've found that releasing them with just a week apart wasn't enough time to smooth things over for each release either :)

If it's specifically a bug fixing patch that's being delayed longer than usual it could be because it's taking longer to identify and fix the bugs on consoles, especially if they want to do both together.

The reason for this is simple and obvious to PC users, it is because we are meant to continue to be beta testers for console, just like we were for over a year pre-console release

well I cant comment on that problem but I do know that they put out a supposed fix for the long load times

Well, I could agree with this except that... if this were true, then consoles would receive the bug-free version right away. Instead, they still receive the same bugged version that PC players had initially and then still have to wait for a fix a couple of weeks after PC version is patched.

i will just leave this comment i made in another post fits in here aswell

yes you are in a cummunity but if you are not it's really hard to find one. i'm glad im now in a small guild with 30 people where i actually speak to members. in my other 4 guild which have 500 members i don't know a single person in it. every time i check there weren't even people in the chat. text can improve communication with strangers in a beter way then voice does + some people don't like voice or aren't able to use it for what reason at all.
but it is abundantly clear that ZOS doesn't give to *** about consoles and focus on pc. examples are ZOS meeting guilds from pc not consoles, issue loading screens adressing 3-4 weeks AFTER the pc fix, not responding on posts like this one about text chat were the community is quite clear, PTS (which i could live without but it's just one of the many things), no add-on support to consoles (they could actually use some of the more populair add-ons and make them avalable for consoles and the clunky controles (like weaponswiching) that you can't alter

Perhaps it would be better if they would reverse the release order?

Simple, everytime zos want to implement a major update to both consoles they have to go through Microsoft and sony, so instead of the pc servers which they can do willy nilly. Consoles require certification and approval, that can take a while on its own

    IC:

    XB1 - September 15
    PS4 - September 16

    Orsinium:
    PC November 2

    PS4 - November 18

That doesn't look to me like the timing got delayed.

plenty of games have pc and console version this is an easy work around you have the patch you go ok submit it now we release in 2 weeks when we get back and you plan around that but that's not my point ZOS is holding off patches to bundle them together because its easier for them then putting out and submitting different approvals and I understand this but some updates like long loadin screens are game breaking and need to be there own patch and happen soon then when its easy for them.

its say that's fare but tis more about patch updates ZOS holds off console update to bundle them together for Microsoft and sony approval instead of doing one at a time cuss its easier for them witch I understand but some things like long loading screens are gaming breaking and need there own quicker patch updates instead of when its easy.

And plenty of single player games have patches first on PC. Fallout 4 will have a beta patch on PC.

Developers have generally have more control over their game on PC. There is less red tape, so they can be more responsive.

Considering that developers generally prioritize console development of big titles, I have little sympathy for console players.

I don't think its true cuss if it were we would get the patched version but we get the same bugged version weeks later then when they fix pc gets the patch and we get the fix weeks later

From my point of view (a software designer) i would take a shot in the dark and guess that they are trying to avoid any seriously game breaking flaws that could cripple the game, possibly for good, because as you know unless its a hotfix, then microsoft has to cert it, which takes time. It could be anyones guess, but maybe submit the question to the ask us anything thread. Id like to hear their reasonings!

That was what I said earlier but some people choose to ignore it because they have their own belief which conflicts with reality- so they'll just continue talking about what they believe versus actual facts.

The FACT is, bugs that hit PC also hit consoles but just two weeks later. The devs DO NOT add fixes to updates between PC Live and Console Live... there is obviously a two week approval process to get anything added to consoles. Then, typically, consoles have to wait a month or longer for any 'fixes' that the PC players received much earlier.

well it takes some time to cover the bugs found by their live beta testers aka PC user after being ignored for weeks on the PTS than it takes some time at Sony and MS - so you can be happy with 2,5 weeks...
