Why is templar the most OP class? Here is the answer!

Hi everyone,

I feel compelled to do this again, some of you might remember me from posts about how much templar sucks in pvp (also wrongly mistaken as QQ posts by noob no brainers) , you might have also noticed 1 or 2 people arguing the opposite from the hundreds of players that checked out the thread. Some sort of genius people suggested to me to wear light armor as some sort of cure all thing to my templar nerf problem. I used light armor (after spending hundreds of thousands gold ty very much) and noticed something GREAT ! It changed the way i play my templar for ever! I was frikin' right all along! Templar class is nerfed to high heaven, not only it does no damage at all, like literally 0 sort of PVP DPS, it has the worst sustain there is! Now i am not english, i am from Eastern Europe, also known as the most skilled PvP region in the world when it comes to any kind of games, MMO, MOBA, RTS, TBS etc, yet for some sort of godlike biblical reason i cannot explain the uber templar nerf, let me expand on this a bit :

- (Templar)Me using 5 julianos + 3 twilight set items combined with willpower i get around : 1400 magicka regen, 30k Magicka and 2.6k Spell damage with 12k spell penetration and 60%-70% spell critical (5 pieces light all yellow + best glyphs in-game the 20k ones). Now this should be enough to get me into the top tier of PvP players, not the best people but surely the 2nd best, having all the best items + all skillpoints you could need + 5 years of PvP experience and 4 months of daily Azura. All good and nice until guess what...Wait nooooooo, you can't kill a damn fly if you was fighting for your life Mr. Templar Winterborn Man!! Now now let me expand a little further :
- (DK)Me using a 1 week old Magicka Dk : 6 Julianos + 3 Elf Bane with 600 magicka regen, 35k Magicka, 2.94k Spell Damage, 0 spell penetration (screw it i go for nutjob build) 40% spell critical (everything yellow + best glyphs and HEAVY). I murked the map, this is like the best char i ever played in ESO, i only use 4 skills, more like spam them in the lag and i win 70% of the times! This is crazy, i just spam chain + embers+ whip and i win ) rarely do i use my nice epic Standard Ultimate in order to nuke some kind of stack on crown zergs lol. What the hell i get around 3k DPS from standard only in a huge area for like 15 seconds + all my damage gets empowered while in its area!

Not to mention that i killed a yellow equiped templar in 1v1 more easy than i kill a random mob in cracked wood cave. Yes sir i did, you templars are victims to my mighty whip spam LOL. I swear i felt bad for doing it because i love my templar, since the reason i post this threads when no one else does!

So you tell me this : How is it that my greatly tweaked templar over 4 months is not able to pull half the feats i can pull on my Magicka Dk? There are 0 ulti skills i can use on templar, why even bother to fill that skill slot ZOS? Do you have some kind of fetish with useless ulty skills? Did you build this class while doing shots or something?

Please , i cannot stress this enough. PLEASE just go away with your ultimate templar tweak of over 1 year, i know you want to hold all templars down so you can have the bragging rights but just please shut up and stop the troll posts. I only post this stuff because i love my templar and i will be damned if i ever give up the stop nerfing the templar fight!

I am of the opinion that all the classes need adjustment and tweaking, as they all have pretty useless skills that could be better, but I do agree Templars need it the most.

I don't understand, why zos ignores anything to do with templars?
Its like they just barley played this class and decided to not fix/buff the class but instead nerf them because they think templars are meant to be healers(I guess they played a templar healer only). :-/

Does ANYONE on ZOS even play a templar? I highly doubt it with the abysmal balancing they put on them. My first was a temp but I had to scrap him, even with my at the time poor stat allocation he was doing so horribly compared to other classes My NB turned out to be a better healer I only keep him for those that need WW bites. Plus damage wise, even if I don't use CC the damage output is 2+ better and I can actually use combos instead of one "decent" move. overall temps are in a bad place now.

DK is a tanky class. a DK can tank 4-8 depends on skill.
other classes cant.

A sorc can just jump around in a jockstrap while casting shields. It's all good.

My sorc would still crush you lol. Zap zap with the Kena and then its 13k velocious curse, 19k procd frags, 18k meteor = molten templar all before you can spam breath of life or whatever. Same for DKs. Sorcs who ever shields best wins. Night blades. ..when you ready to stop hiding and fight properly.

ok so i wasnt gonna answer on this but as you put so much effort in this post i will.
First, in my opinion the Templer realy is not the greatest dps Class but it certanly is a very very good support class if not the best.
Second, if you want to be the uber "Roxxor, i kill everything who is in front of me" PvP Player i doubt you will achive it with just equipment (equipment is very important and the base of every strong build pve more then pvp but that doesnt matter now)
So in conclusion its very important wich skills you use and how you use them and if you are using the right skills in the situation you are in the moment of a fight.
In PvE its a little bit easier because there you fight against mobs wich have their abillities and they always have the same but in pvp you play against humans and a dk is not always the same as another dk.
So please tell us wich skills you mainly use in your bars and maybe someone can help you out a little bit.

Ok, so I'm really curious, I remember you listing, and a few others, exactly how much spell penetration you had. Where are you coming up with that number?? I'm really curious, bc as far as I have seen, actuall spell pen isn't listed. Are you using an addon that tells you?

Does this only occur in PVP? I'm starting out as an Orc Templar and I am only level 7. I have been doing questing on Bleakrock Isle for the Ebonheart Pact and haven't noticed any weaknesses on my char. I own the race in any faction thing from being a PC transfer customer as I own it on there.

I've played a Templar for awhile, while the class surely isn't the weakest out of the 4, let me tell you why they broke it.

• Vampires Bane deals fire damage instead of Magic Damage; it has the chance to be one of the strongest DoTs in the game but ZOS decided to make it fire damage unlike all of the other Templar skills.
  
• Channeled Focus, this skill was ran into the ground because ZOS don't know how to fix a problem so they make a skill completely useless. Nothing about ESO combat system where you stand still.
  
• Blazing Shield, same thing the skill was made useless instead of adjusting the damage done they remove class shields a Templar has.
  
• Breath of Life, this used to be an instant cast now they broke it and don't know how to fix it and they told us we need to anticipate damage.
  
• Toppling Charge, has always been buggy and even worse this update
  
• Javelin, maybe as useless or more useless than Stone Fist
  
• Total Dark, another example of a skill made useless where they don't know how to fix the problem
  
• Radiant Oppression, ever since they changed it around it's been buggy and hardly acts like an execute
  
• Puncturing Sweep, the heal can't crit

That being said the skills that do work, they work really well but right now the Templar class is lacking a lot of synergy within it's abilities compared to others. While in PvE at the moment it is quite easy to pull good numbers in a trial as long as you gear right and have a clue you should be able to get some good DPS. But as I said this class has been ruined by ZOS because they don't know how to fix a problem and they just nerf everything and ruin the skill synergy. I'm not usually on the bandwagon about Templars but really it's becoming annoying how they deal with problems

If only it could be true. The truth is that any class can tank if set to do so. And, I kind of dont like it. Seeing a sorcerer in robe absorbing more damage then a heavy armored orc with a shield kinda make me sick. Im an orc you know, i hate robes.

I still remember pretty much the time when some were crying out loud how much op was the DK... Now, they got what they wanted. I told them, heck, we are Dragons! What do you expect?

I stopped playing my big tanky DK orc with a shield because its so much more faster to go with my NB and Sorcerer and hit the win buttons, very much faster. Templar, bah, there fine, dont call them out to much, or youll get what you want!

Only a templar whose not including tools to deal with sorcs on their bars, which is quite often I admit considering the skills are not much use for other classes except perhaps lashing DK's.

So what we're the weakest, we keep people alive. FYI, I've never died 1v1 to a DK (unless emperor) since 1.7, I have actually heard of a skill called purifying ritual.

I dought they even play on the live server. They have to be playing in their own little world, where everything does work fine because the bugs we report and glitches seen that they seem to be baffled over because they just can't recreate it only proves it.
Like last summer when our mounts would just stop while running. Everyone experienced this. Everyone. When it was brought up, they wanted video proof because they couldn't get it to happen to them.
People went nuttz after that, many guild members rage quit due to the lack of actual testing of the game and obvious clues that the company doesn't play live often enough to notice something is different between what ever they are playing and what the pass asas being live.
Of course we must remember that we were relatively just beta testers paying to debug and balance the console version.

Maybe you should focus more on playing with your DK, if you find it hard to fight with your templar. You seem to find it more fun and easy to play with our dk.


Personally I find it comforting to play with my templar, my survival is high and I deal very good damage. Both for pve and pvp

Templar even with it's bugs rocks way better than a Magicka DK.
At least you can do two or more things rather than just being a half assed NB bait..

On V1 i like it way better than V16DK
5 julianos, 2 Elf, Willpower, Dual Swords rock. I do miss Dragon's Leap though. That ability is killer.

We need a snare and a legit Ult and then I would be happy. OK, more things than that but lets start with that.

Thank you for your feedback. What class, in your opinion, is the weakest if not Templar? IMO Stamina Templar is the worst. Just wanna hear your thoughts on this.

Long story short any class weapon or armor should be good at any state not end game with top tier gear. So stop it with these "L2P" threads.

I am just smitten by some people here that just spam stuff without any thought! Are you guys like really that blind? I will grant you this, your skill in Bla bla bla is very good but pew pew seems to be lacking! I played Magicka Templar for 4 months, 4 frikin' months! Now i see this trolls telling me to l2p while my build is much better than theirs and i am an overall better pvp-er. Yet they still bla bla bla randomly with 0 brain,i saw your builds in cyro heal spam hoping to GOD you won't die. Yeah i saw you, you still suck, you die in 10 seconds yes GZ but deal 0 damage, you just spam heal mana pool, WP bro real something! I used my stamplar archer for 4 days now with heavy items and i am doing 2xbetter than i was doing with my 4 months tweaked yellow item magicka templar. So do i suck in pvp? I would argue not since i am so much better on archer. Does Magicka Templar suck period? Yes. Have a nice day troll.

I mean I have more max magicka, more spell damage, more spell crit and more spell pene

And I still get grief for my build being low tier.

the Templar is not meant to be a heavy damage output class or a tank. they are meant to be support and healing roles that is all. sure can you amp up damage a bit to be able to do some stuff sure. and you can beef up the defense to have mediocre tank capabilities but all in all they are meant to be behind the "walls" of troops keeping them alive the best they can in a fight and to support them. that is what the devs wanted a Templar to be not a dps tank or a healer dps. sure you can play how you want but that doesn't mean you should expect a Templar to do as well in pvp dps as a nb or tank as good as a dk. a Templar is all about support not damage and not tanking.
