Skeleton Polymorph gives my character a genderswitch..

Yay, I finally obtained the Skeleton Polymorph... but my character is female.

I really think it's a pity they only got a male version of this Polymorph, why?
It's not cool to run around and hear some male grunts coming from my character xD
Could this be fixed in the future please?

Technically skeletons have no gender. All the gender "parts" are missing.

Plus.. how come my female voice turns male with the polymorph, that declares a gender change haha

Female skeleton actually looks different.
And that polymorph gives some of us race change as well

Been an issue for Khajiit and Argonians as well.
They all get turned into a different race.

Last I saw, the official line on this was that it's not that you are being turned into a skeleton, it's that you are being turned into one of the village warriors.

I guess they are all male?

Incorrect. There is definitely a difference between male and female skeletons.

This is an issue but in Wrothgar there are Khajiit skeletons. Although the skulls appear to be that of another type of cat like creature shoved on top of the human skeleton frame. It still be nice if they made the effect reflect your species though.

I keep thinking there must be a "***" joke in this, but I just can't think of any...

On a more serious note...
Yeah, it would be cool if the skeleton polymorph, both the costume and the quest-driven ones, were to take at least race into account. Now that we -do- have khajiit and argonian skeletopns in Wrothgar at least... gender might be the next logical step.
But eh.
I can understand that a "costume" that behaves differently depending on who equips it may require more coding then they are willing to pay for...

It turns you into a male bretton (do the dance). Its rather frustrating, especially for beast races as they lose their tails.

@kupacmac, skepetons do have some gender defined characteristics like wider hips on females, not that we could see that though...

But OP is correct, female skeletal pelvis looks noticeably different from male skeletal pelvis... you can google it

The male redguard dance is rather 'interesting' if you do it in skeletal form.

The skeleton polymorph is a free in-game reward. Soon, players will probably be spending hundreds of crowns to get a gender or race change.

Same happens with the maelstrom baron polymorph. It turns my female Breton in a male dremora

How can you determine its turned you into a male skeleton by grunts alone. You're a bag of bones without a voicebox rubbing bone fragments together to communicate. . The baron poly is also a non issue. Daedra have no gender, the baron chose to look like what we perceive as male. You're morphing into the form it chose.

I have a response from Zos about the Skeleton gender problem and it was not the answer I wanted

Thank you for contacting us regarding your character's apparent gender change. The Skeleton Polymorph transforms your character into a male skeleton as you are granted the visage of one of the warriors of Stillrise Village when you use the disguise. The polymorph is complete while it is active, which is why female characters sound male when the disguise is in use.

If you would like to see a female skeletal visage added, please take a minute to submit /feedback in game. You're also welcome to add a topic in our forums.

I don't know exactly where it was but there was an explanation of this. Pretty much you're being turned into a specific individual. You're not becoming a skeleton of you, but of someone else. Or something like that.

So it's not that the polymorph is wrong, it's that our assumptions about the polymorph is doing are incorrect.

Female skeletons would have smaller jaws and different hip bone secture, I admit...but given you also get a race change with this morph my orc should have different teeth secture, its not a big deal its just a morph..use it to fool guys!

well TECHNICALLY skeletons have gender, they don't have a "sex" there's a difference between gender and sex.

Think you got your terms mixed up, twogirls_onebenny. All skeletons have a sex (sex being the scientific classification as male or female). I suppose they could have a gender, but that would depend on what culture and time they unlived in as well as how robust is the necromancy used to animate them (i.e. is there enough of a mind there to have something like a gender identity? Or is it just a mindless walking skeleton?)

But, honestly do you really think ZOS is going to take the time do code that in and make additional character models? It's really a non-issue. Besides, you're morphing into a skeleton (which happens to be male); you aren't ripping your skin off to expose your own skeleton underneath.

OP was counting the ribs.

it would be nice if it was a poly morph that turned you into a skeleton of you character (race and gender included) opposed to a polymorph that turns you into a generic skeleton. but this QoL issue would probably be very difficult to implement and not worth the time/reward

This one wonders what the reaction would have been had the quest reward turned everyone into a skeletal Khajiit - or Orc

Maybe they could consider this as a reward for some other quest at sometime in the future?

I doubt this game's level of detail would allow identification of the different pelvic layout, collarbone & elbow dimensions and subtle leg bone length differences, which are the only visible differences between male and female skeletons...

If you look closely, Dringoth the skeleton looks female. The mastoid process is small, the forehead has sharper slope, the mandible and maxillae are rather delicate. I don't know what terms might get blotted out so I'll just say the front arch of the pelvis is very wide, indicating female. Since there's just the one skeleton type, it would seem everyone is female, but sounds and dances like a guy.
