- Would it be possible to buy skins for vampire and werewolf forms in the future? Maybe vampires with longer fangs, noses like in dawngaurd, wereboars, werecrocodiles, and others? These would still require having vampirism or lycanthrophe to see the effect and wouldn't change abilities, just the look.

The following was asked during ESO live and the response was that this would be too niche for just vampires and werewolves. Is that true? How many vampires or werewolves are out there would like to purchase custom looks?

We already have lore several Lycanthrope strains. Wereboars, Werebears, werecrocodiles, and more are canon (From the elderscrolls Wikia). We don't need to worry about specializing their skill lines (and possibly making things unbalanced), just a new look to distinguish you from the pack.

As for vampires we've seen alternate looks in the dawngaurd DLC for skyrim, most of the volkihar's bat like apperance. In other games had various clans like the Aundae, Berne, and Quarra clans. While there weren't different looks in the past, we can set new looks for them in the crown store. No need to change stats, just different looks and skins to alter your character's look

Tried to keep this a simple poll, to post replies with any in between options you may want. Realize that adding in a new line for each vampire or lycanthrophe strain isn't too likely given the time to code and balance it. Lets just focus on a cool look for now =3.

I don't know if CS skins are the answer, but I think they definitely should develop the idea of these monsterish trees further. Maybe introduce more trees that we can unlock in a similar way?

The main reason I would refuse to buy them would be because they would be crown store only. I prefer to earn such skins in quests or relevant in game events. It's just a personal preference.
That being said, seeing as how they are only cosmetic I would see no problem with them being offered (especially since you made having the affliction a perquisite).

I don't see any reason why the game shouldn't be able to support unique "vampire/WW only" customization features unce it has a character recustomization option.

Not sure about other "were-" options per se... but I would like to see options for weres in humanoid form to have. Extra facial hairiness. Unibrow. Furry ears. Yellow eyes. Hairy palms. All the things legend ascribes to werewolves in their human form could be made optional for recustomization through purchasing a pack in the crown store.

Same for vampires... a special recustomization options pack from the crown store could open up those as well, be it longer fangs or different fangs (Nosferatu rat-fangs, anyone? ;) ), special eye options or whatever.

Back to were-bears, -boars, -crocodiles... since currently the only way to "catch hircines gift" is being bitten by a werewolf, it ought to be werewolf.
However... in future DLCs they might add new spawning locations where you might be able to "catch" other flavors? That would please me more then just having it as sort of "skin" - the skills could be the same, or slightly different, but it would be really neat to have more -options-!

Keep in mind that the 'vampirism' found in ESO is a bit different than the traditional vampirism found in most other ES games, so I'm not sure how much 'variety' there can be made that would still fit within Lore especially considering that ESO takes place hundreds of years before the timeline of other ES games.

Too niche? Aw man, I guess this means my poor Redguard's going to be bright purple forever :'(

I would definitely buy a skin to make him pale brown instead of bright purple, you know like have a paleness which actually went off his base skin tone. Or that could be something to come with character recustomisation now that I think of it, choosing different Vampire-specific skin tones. But yeah that's sad to hear.

Unfortunately I think they are right about it being niche. I'd love to customise my werewolf or even just have the ability to use the form like a costume. It would be great for screen shots and guild events. However, mostly the only people interested in that will be RP'ers, and I think Werewolf and Vampire RPs will be classed as niche too :(

Hmm true. However goats became an Internet thing a while ago, what with the goat remixes and even the goat simulator game. That may have spawned more goat lovers outside of ESO. But yes your point still stands, and that craze has pretty much died out now.

Well part of this post is to measure how niche it is. I know plenty that complain on the looks, though getting folks to commit to purchase something can be difficult.

As for price, it's a good point, how much are you willing to spend? I think for me 500-700 is acceptable for a decent skin. If I say a pack of 3-4 at 1200-1500 that would be a good price mark for me. About where I pay for the current costumes

I would buy it instantly and use it exclusively in PvP.

There's a lot of benefits for a magicka based healer, being able to look like a werewolf.

People generally stay away, when someone goes into ww form. No one stays away from someone looking like a healer.

Werewolf hits damn hard because it's stamina + physical scaling dmg, can almost instakill players. So you have to kite them and be careful. It's a fricken' ultimate after all. But spend crowns and look like someone using an ultimate 24/7. Isn't it a bit broken lol?

The point of this is only to work while transformed, it wouldn't be applied to a base skin when you're not Wolfed out.

I voted as I did simply because I would have no use for the skins. I run Vampires on all of my characters (if it fits the RP), so additional skins aren't necessary.

On the other hand, yes Vampires and Werewolves are a niche market. The furor for Vampire-everything of the last couple of years has died down dramatically, and the whole zombie thing is starting to cool off as well. Vampire-love is starting to shrink back to the original base of Goth people (like myself) and fans of certain book series'.

So from the developers view, yes I can definitely see Vampire and Werewolf skins being too niche to warrant a spot in the Crown store.

As per usual, I agree with the reasonableness of @TheShadowScout. Extra character creation-type options for Vamps and Werewolves but additional strains should be actual strains. The difference between werewolf and wereboar should be more than cosmetics. Same for the various vampire clans... strains... whatever.

I agree that this would be a niche market. I would still buy skins but I would prefer if there were skins you could unlock in game aside from crown store items.

I would prefer to unlock them by completing werewolf/vampire specific quests. Quests you can only unlock by becoming a werewolf or vampire. Would also be cool to see some werewolf/vampire specific Dungeons which can only be completed by packs of werewolves and/or vampires. At the end of some or all of these quests/dungs you unlock pieces of costumes that you need to collect before being able to wear.

I think of it as niche and I don't think anyone should deny that it is niche. Instead you, both players and ZOS, should embrace that it is niche. New quests! New Content! New Rewards! All for the "niche" players! Embrace your inner niche!

I think the core issue with Vamp/WW is that many people run them just for the stat boosts. the pop of players who run due to RP/look are probably just portion of the total vamp/WW pop, which then is only a small part of the general pop.

Not being negative on the vamp/ww population ;) just pointing out that a small part of a small part = even smaller part. Thats probably what led them to say that phrase, "niche"

Personally, what I wouldn't mind are skins that allow my vamps or WW to look LESS vamp/ww. If I do either, it's usually for the stats, and im not a big fan at all of the current vamp look. WW is OK, but having some more mild options wouldn't be half bad either. But realistically, i probably still wouldn't buy them.

I don't see a problem with these being an option. its just cosmetic but the only reason I don't see it happening is cuss it would only effect a fraction of in game players as to where I see the crown store as something they want everyone to to buy so the 2/3 of the pop that are not WW or VP wouldn't even think if buying these if it only applied while in form
