Since the update I can not complete any instances.

Laugh it up.

I am level 33 templar, and every group I join we fail fairly quickly. Wipe repeatedly on mobs, and it sucks. I see we get scaled to vr 16 but it doesn't feel like I am any stronger since I get DESTROYED in a couple hits when prior to the update, I could que into anything with very high success rate of completion. Something feels off, like the difficulty is just insanely high. Why can't we be scaled to the group leaders level like before? My only complaint is that the instances feel impossoble now for my level. I get grouped with people of similar level and we get *** by adds. It sucks.....prior to this we always won with few wipes if any. I am not sure if this is an error or bug that it is so difficult, but if this is the way it is always going to be please let me know now so I can drop this game. If this auto teleport to que function was matched with the old difficulty matchmaking it would have been perfect. Are there any plans to fix it?

It is hard because most people leveling have bad gear so they dont get scaled to be so strong.

So to solve your problem, get good gear and level up.

But why are the lower level instances that I was able to easily complete before now impossible? The level appropriate ones, I don't expect to beat anything higher than I am level appropriate for. They messed up a good thing for us 'taking it slow' players. For anyone under vr rank it's tough as hell.....at least for me. (And others I talk to in game)

I have the same problem too. No problem before and now my team wipes pretty easily. I think it somehow has to do with the fact that I get thrown into the veteran version of the dungeon even though I just queued for the regular version.

Not so much "l2p", but that you'll need to factor in your renewed squishiness and probably change the way you're tackling the fight to reflect this.

Also, are you using gear sets that are at least blue quality? This creates a huge difference through the scaling, even at low levels. Also make sure everything is enchanted properly too, I've occasionally made the mistake of leaving some enchantments off and it does make you a fair bit weaker.
I have departed into the great unknown that is outside the game and the forums, and wish you well in your Tamriel adventures!

My gear is mostly just gear I get from leveling. I am currently stuck with gear I can't wear due to having to run quests much higher level than I should. I was hoping the base vr 16 increase would be enough. Would leveling my gear help me even? I figured the buff would just be a flat increase until Imhit vr 16 and nothing would help until then.....confusing as hell but I hope you understand what I am asking. Forgive me for not wording this properly, I am drunk.

Don't use the grouping tool. It scales everything to level v16.

If you get into a group for a normal dungeon as lvl 33 and the rest of your group are around your level, then you will either struggle for hours or never complete it.

If you are lvl 33 and you get into a group of v16's and they let you stay, it's because you are inconsequential or in best case an extra meatbag that can take some aggro - while they kill everything and get their daily pledge quest done.

If you group up with people from your friends list, guilds or zonechat, the dungeon will be scaled to leader.

I'd wish there were more options in the grouping tool, because the buffs are no where near enough. I did a veteran City of Ash pledge once, with 2 sorcerer dd's. One was v1 through group finder, the other was v16 - and he practically soloed Skoria, while the v1 died fast and we let him stay dead throughout the endboss fight - because if we ressurected him, he would die again almost instantly.

AND NO your group does not suck, this is not a l2p issue either. You don't have the resistance and gear a v16 has, you lack champion points, unlocked skills and passives, grand soul gems to ressurect your v16 group mates, buff food that gives you 4k-5k extra health and either stamina or magicka, potions that provides you 6k-7k resources back.

So it looks like I need a guild. :( if only we had a text chat, I would be inclned to join one. Previous invites to guilds left me sitting there, just a number to the roster without communication to ask for help. Meh. Maybe with time.

The new scaling system works so that if you're wearing set gear it scales it to a VR16 version, however if you're wearing just normal found gear it'll just scale that. Whenever you do dungeons through that, remember to wear a set at any level whilst using the group finder because of this, and at least upgrade it to blue.

This is why I stay away from dungeons until I hit veteran at least; that way I'm not wasting tempers.

Don't pressure yourself to join guilds, get friends first and socialize and you'll naturally either get invited to guilds, or hear about good ones and you can ask to join them.

I hope you get text chat soon :/

I finally got into Spindleclutch after the new GF went hit the PS4.

Joined half way through, many, many wipes. So many wipes. Luckily I have the "I'm sorry" quick-chat.....I used it a hell of a lot. Which reminds me....if you happened to be in Spindleclutch with me a few days ago, I am so, so very sorry about the healing.

If you're on PS PA, I'm more than happy to craft you some decent gear....just let me know what you need and I'll see what I can do.

V16 instances are made for players who are at least VR1. You don't have enough skills or good enough gear to do VR16 content at any lower of a level, no matter the buff that ZOS added. Even VR16 dungeons are hard for VR16 players. The mobs have extremely high health. The mobs do significantly more damage. It's hard.

So, unfortunately, you are going to have to avoid using Group Finder until you hit VR1.

So basically you're saying don't bother using the Group Finder ever...until you hit at least VR1?

Meaning those of us leveling will have to rely on walk-ins....assuming we can find three other people in the same faction, who are wanting to run the dungeon? With no text chat (for console players).

Guys, IF YOU ARE ON CONSOLE don't forget that we don't get the 20% HP buff for another 2 weeks until the incremental patch drops. The pc lot already have this. This will make Group Finder dungeons much easier.

    Gina Bruno confirmed this yesterday.

They just released this change on the PC version about a week ago:
    • Increased the strength of the buff you receive when you are low-level and use the Grouping Tool for random matchmaking. You will now also receive 20% more health.

Might want to wait until that goes live on console.

    Actually not true.

    My level 27 sorc has

    20k hp
    34k magicka
    3200 spell power
    1600 regen buffed

Potions and food are all scaled to vr15 stats, as proven by using food at level 24 gives 5.5k hp just like it does on my vr16

I snuck in this thread expecting to write that, but looks like a couple are ahead of me. Don't give up on dungeons, but do know that this is coming and WILL help!

Until then, unfortunately you will just need to keep trying, or, work on getting some new gear. Go into a scaled dungeon and look at your stats, how much health/magicka/stamina do you have, and do you rely mostly on magicka or stamina attacks? Folks with VR characters will have a good grasp of where you need to be stat-wise so maybe we could brainstorm some cheap/low trait crafted sets for you, or maybe something as switching to a pure green health food would help. Your low level food DOES scale when you're in the dungeons, so be sure to use it! It won't only give you 100 health of whatever is normally says, it will actually give you over 5000 health since that would be the VR15 equivalent of the food. (Made up numbers, just trying to explain that food scales)

    To OP:

When paired with VR players, ask if any of them is a provisionner and can craft you blue quality food (health/stamina or health/magicka). It helps a lot with the scaling.

Personally, when I'm paired with non-VR players I always offer them blue quality food of their level.
