Cannot Complete 'Long Live The King' (Orsinium MQ)

Xantaria

✭✭✭✭✭
At one point in this quest you are supposed to buy the King's favourite Ale.

Apparently I do have almost 77 million of bounty and the vendor of said Ale does not want to talk to me making it impossible for me to complete the quest.

I can no longer advance in Orsinium and can not finish the Mainquest of content I paid for!

FACTS:
- As an outlaw you can still talk to Quest-NPCs of any kind (ALSO VENDORS)
- Just vendors WITHOUT quests do not want to talk to you anymore

When I made the decision to be an outlaw that meant that I was still able to complete pretty much every quest in the game. That this changed and I can't complete Orsinium at all is not acceptable. There needs to be a away around this vendor.

Video of someone with a bounty talking to a different vendor that has a quest:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocay1fgpsRM#t=14

Video of this particular bug where this specific vendor will not talk to you:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgmb2a8wyiw

Thank you @found1779 for making those videos!

If you want to discuss this please stop trying to be a moraliser. This is a game, OK?

A bounty is not intended to stop players from doing quests.

This comment does not help. If I would have known I would not be able to complete Quests because of bounty I wouldn't have done so many crimes. It was very clear that you can still complete Quests as an outlaw though. But seems not anymore.

If you commit lots of crime then that was your choice. There will likely be nothing that CS can do as getting a bounty that high was your choice. You played as you wanted and these are the consequences. Until the bounty degrades, you're rather stuck I think.

Yes you paid for the extra content. But the fault of not being able to complete the quest lies squarely on your shoulders. Sorry, but that's just the way it is.

You know Zenimax made it so that you can still talk to Quest NPCs and do quests even if you have a bounty? So no, it is not my fault. It is zenimax fault for implementing a needed quest that forces you to talk with a vendor with no way around it.

Also probably knowing that with a bounty that high, Guards will kill you on sight? And avoiding towns is the best way to not have this happen?

So, you have two choices. Get repeatedly killed by guards (Which will take a lot of gold in repairs) or wait until the bounty that you racked up degrades to zero, which I am guessing will take some time.

I do not mean for this to sound aggressive, however this really is nobody's fault but your own. The justice system is working as intended.

Edit: Also... it doesn't matter if you paid for the content, you are the reason you can't complete the quest. This is not an error on ZOS. It's on you. That statement is irrelevant.

You can complete other quest that requires you to talk to a npc that is a merchant just not this one it's not intended to stop players with a bounty from completing this quest if it was ever quest would be like this they are not

Yup just a video of me showing what i mean i completed a quest in riften where you have to talk to a blacksmith to complete it and it let me even with a bounty i can still even buy from him but the other blacksmith beside him won't sell to me or nother see https://youtube.com/watch?v=ocay1fgpsRM this is the reason why i think it wasn't intended to stop players with a bounty from completing a quest cause others you can complete just not long live the king quest

send me all your gear before you rage quit.

well, its not ZOS fault, its your own.
i dont even know what id have to do to get a bounty that high.

but its clear that you did it on purpose. i would rather say ZOS has to fix all other quests (inlcuding bas game quests), as you shouldnt be able to do quests for the highest legal authorities (Knings and Queens, as well as Mage and Fighters guild) in tamriel with a bounty that high.

At one point in this quest you are supposed to buy the King's favourite Ale.

Apparently I do have almost 77 million of bounty and the vendor of said Ale does not want to talk to me making it impossible for me to complete the quest.

I can not longer advance in Orsinium and can not finish the Mainquest of content I paid for!

As an outlaw you can still talk to Quest-NPCs of any kind. Just vendors do not want to talk to you anymore. When I made the decision to be an outlaw that meant that I was still able to complete pretty much every quest in the game. That this changed and I can't complete Orsinium at all is not acceptable. There needs to be a away around this vendor.

You can complete other quest with a bounty just not this one me showing i completed a quest in riften where you have to talk to a blacksmith to complete it even with a bounty a bounty is not intended to stop players from completing a quest https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocay1fgpsRM

[sarcasm]Ooo... you mean... there's actually -consequences- for being a blatant criminal??? Imagine that...[/sarcasm]

Personally I kinda approve of the game scr... uhm... making things difficult for outlaws.
Though I suppose they might have added a alternate route where you can just steal a flagon of the kings ale for the funeral...
Maybe they will do something for all the outlaws. Or maybe you will need to send your outlaws law abiding (or at least, better at not being caught) cousin to finish Orsinium...

    But in the final analysis...

Please not another post about this. Please just look up other people who have made this post, come to the conclusion that it is absolutely ridiculous to be able to do anything you want with a 77 million gold bounty. You wouldn't expect someone on the FBI's top ten wanted criminals to be able to walk through new york city, go order a pizza or something without being noticed.

It IS broken. It is NOT his fault for playing the game the same way he has been playing all along. It needs fixed.

Stop making real life analogies when you're refering to a game. Don't be that guy.

OP, maybe you can buy the drink on another character and transfer it to your criminal through banking, until this bug is fixed.

It's time for an overhaul of the current loot system!
Implement a Token-System, so people get rewarded for their time invested!
RNG^RNG is both tedious and undesirable!

Okay, I can't *** money in real life, does this mean I should be able to in game? No! Don't be the guy that thinks there is no realism in the game

When I was in beta I was so happy to run around and talk to NPCs.
I was talking to a farmer who had all his little happy sheep around.
Another player walked up and started massacring all the poor sheep.
I was so shocked I didn't do anything but stare at the screen for a while.
(I admit I screamed WHHYYYY at the player through the screen, though.)
I haven't seen someone murder an NPC yet, but I don't look forward to that.

The fact that the Justice System seems to be giving sheepslayers more repercussions makes me so happy. I am just smiling now.
