DPS check typically means you need to be able to do a high level of DPS for a fight or you don't beat the fight.

This fight is more like you need to do a moderate amount of DPS after certain percentages of the bosses health. When I first started the fight I would open with overload and try burning the boss down with everything I had from the begining but that isn't the strategy. Now I know when all the add waves spawn and I ensure that I kill the adds right before I push the boss into the next "phase" so I can relax and burn him down without being pressured. The only way you fail at this fight is is the adds or boss kill you or your DPS is equivalent to nothing but heavy attacking or something and I think I could probably beat the boss with just heavy attacks TBH.

So yeah you can't HEAL the boss to death but it's not a real DPS check once you understand the mechanics.

In my experience this isn't the case TBH. I've beat Maelstrom several times now with both 1 Sigil and 0 sigils in the 1:40 minute to 2 hour and 10 minute range with 8-20 deaths and my score is always in the 290K (20 deaths 2 hours 10 minutes) to 350K (8 death 1 hour 40 minutes) range.

I think the only penalty for using a sigil is displayed up front between stages. I can't recall but I think it 1000 points per sigil. I think after beating the final boss last night it said my score was 266K which is max pre bonuses. When I do 1 sigil on final stage of final boss it says 265K.

He has an internal timer built into his ice platform smashes. It's a classic "if this -> then this" command line.

The first two he smashes at certain percentages the last one is an enrage timer

Haha I tried with 49K magicka, Aegis, Inner light and all that but even with a huge shield, losing the utility of the mobility and projectile absorption was too much. On the final fight, adding Harness magicka to my bar trivialized the encounter for me but I haven't used it anywhere else.

Most players in raid guilds have it on at least a sorc character, it's easy on that class. There are far more than "just a few" players with it...just look at the scoreboards once in a while...I see it all the time walking around towns...

I strooooongly disagree with this. Lol. Half of Cyrodiil with Flawless? N'ah bruh. Not even close.

And even then, I know tons of people who paid for that Flawless on PS4-NA or had it done for them by friends/guildies. In fact, there are people who still have others do it for them weekly and have NEVER been caught. Why? Because ESO isn't cross-checking IP's for account sharing. And yet, some of those very same people are amongst "top" end-game PvE guilds currently. And roam about boasting of their DPS, and leaderboard achievements. They show off this and that, when in fact they had someone do VMA for them.

I could legit put hella people on blast on PS4-NA who had their friends or guildies do VMA for them, and get them their weapons and Flawless. PSN names and the guilds they are in. But, I'm not trying to get my forum account suspended for "naming and shaming". Even worse, there are people who are amongst the "top" who are using accounts that were sold to them or shared with them. Since the original player decided to stop playing.

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom Do an IP scan of the "top" players on PS4-NA. (trial and Maelstrom leaderboards), and see for yourselves the surprises that await you. Lol. Account sharing and selling is so high, that people boldly list their accounts in Elden Root sometimes if you are just passing by. People on PS4-NA sell everything from: Accounts, carry runs, emperor, VMA runs, etc. It's pathetic that these folks haven't been permanently banned.

Step 1: Get a good build that can dish out good DPS and self heals. (Good DPS means you can kill adds in under 3 seconds, great DPS under 2)

Step 2: Memorize the spawn patterns of maelstrom. It helps DPS to have ground DOTs waiting for adds when they spawn. If you run it enough, you will know every spawn pattern. A lot of it is simply thinking ahead.

Step 3: Use the mechanics, if your not, your just making it way more difficult than it needs to be. (Example: Arena 6 with the spiders and totems, save the totems for mini-bosses. Last boss, focus adds until you get totems up to disable the Boss)

Also, you can use the sigils if you need to. It only makes it easier, but not necessary if you got a solid build and know the mechanics and spawn patterns. You can also change out some skills before each arena if you think it will help. (Example: Arena 5 which is the Ice round, the one that probably kills most people, if your a vampire Devouring Swarm works great because that round is full of adds packed on small ice islands. You get to dish out good DPS and the heals work great to keep you up. Arena 2, with the 3 Automaton bosses, use cheaper ultimates so you hit each Automaton with more DPS before they shield up)

It's all about what your using and when you use it. Hope that helps some of you.

I have it on 4 characters, got all of them after Morrowind. My first was magicka DK, then magsorc, stamsorc and last week magplar. It´s all about how much time you spend in there and how comfortable you´re with the mechanics.

I play on Xbox and I would estimate roughly 40% of players in PVP with CP 630 have Flawless as their title. Yes it was a bit of hyperbole but no Flawless is not something that is utterly elusive. It is not easy but provided you put time into learning the stages its really not all that awful.

I was very close to Flawless for the last 8 months but only got it after Morrowind dropped, and I got it on my first go on a stam Sorc bow/bow build. I've had at least 10 runs on my Stam DK bow/bow with only 1 death using no sigils. You do not need elite dps to get Flawless you only need to follow mechanics, add in sigils and its even easier.

I could comfortably beat VMA with 4-5 deaths and no sigils when I was doing 20-22k dps on a target dummy. High dps is only really needed for leaderboard runs, Flawless is only a measure of not dying to mechanics.

The mechanic's are static, they do not change, the only thing that changes is how you experience them based on your own damage and positioning. Once you beat a particular stage without dying and without sigils, it is merely a matter of repeating the strategy that you have already shown to be effective and to work.

After a period of time, most of your deaths will only be from lag(if you don't have great internet), then it becomes only a matter of time before you put together a complete perfect run.

Actually I managed to do a few no death runs without sigils all I needed that swapped refreshing to twisting with scathing instead of jul not an ez thing but makes the title all the worth imo

If they fix the *** rng & bugged system on 7th stage, i would complete it 1.5 years ago.

Typical Dialog environment and me are the following;
