Option To Purchase A Blood & Gore Effect (Consoles Included):

Ok I've played ESO for a long time since just after it's original launch on PC in 2014. Even though I kept my sub going on PC until very recently when I started having PC issues I've since started subbing on Xbox One. After the rebranded ESOTU and the crown store addition I see it as a big oppurtunity to make the game bigger than it is eventhough it's an awesome game now. I think that a little blood and gore effect would be a nice addition. I get this isn't Fallout or Witcher, but having that extra effect could bring some realisticness to an already great game. How this could work is like the DLC's it be disabled until it was verified a user had it. This could be an option that was toggled through the settings menu. It would only be visible if the user has access to it. It could be made to work with ESO PLUS or purchasable. Majority of us probably pass the age requirement, so what do you guys think?

Perhaps, but could be adjusted in a hypothetical sense off, low, medium, and high. More finishing animations and splattering the higher the setting is set. High could be more like fallout 4's blood and gore, low could be more like Skyrim's system as Skyrim didn't have much. Off would be ESOTU's original system. This is more or less a theory as if ZOS decides to do it we don't know how it would work, because ESOTU's own software difficulties on all three platforms may make it difficult to implement.

Well, it has been mentioned... for example, like @Gidorick wrote here...

Quick one... ZOS should release a crown store pack that just makes ESO more violent and visceral. :naughty:

    ESO Brutality Pack (2000 Crowns)
    • More blood
    • Longer lasting blood coverage on characters
    • Flesh rending and bone crushing sound effects
    • Gruesome death animations (runs at real-time)
      • Bodies getting chopped in half at the waist
      • Torsos getting vertically cleaved
      • Arms and legs getting hacked off
      • Heads rolling
    And my personal favorite....
    • The ability to collect body parts from fallen PVP enemies, complete with their names.
      • Fingers from Men (Breton, Nord, Redguard, Imperial)
      • Ears from Mer (Aldmer, Dunmer, Bosmer)
      • Teeth from Orcs
      • Tails from Beasts (Argonian & Khajiit)

The body parts would have NO use in game whatsoever. They would just be a trophy of your accomplishments. They should stack in the inventory by race and when a player looks at the stack, the name of the...er... unfortunate adventurers would be able to be read. And no, they shouldn't be bound.

Oh and the fatalities shouldn't have any slowing down or special camera angels. They should... happen and maybe not even every time.

Any ideas of what you would like to see added to the Brutality Pack?

Personally I would welcome a bit more grittyness, blood and gore. Even if I had to pay extra for it. I just like my games on the mature side in their depictions of hacking and slashing...

    More blood?

    Yes please :naughty:

Thanks for tagging me on this @TheShadowScout. Always good to see when others ask for this sort of thing. I think a DLC is the PERFECT way to handle this. Gore for those that want it. None for those that don't.

What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

Indeed, making some "optional features" DLC would be a very good thing to do IMO.

And some good old fashioned "ultraviolence"... I mean, if Tv shows like "Spartacus" or "Vikings" can do it, why not "M" rated games? And in DLC form, those who want it pay for it, those who don't want it, don't buy it. Simple.

Same format could be used to make a "naughtyness" DLC for those who like to see pixel boobs and stuff like that.

And as I outlined in the mentioned thread, it shouldn't be too much of a bother to add stuff like weapon "fatality" animations - the mechanic already exists for magic damage, we can see the subjects of our violent ire burn to ashes, freeze and shatter, melt into poisonous goop, desintegrate through lightning... so they would just need to expand this for decapitations, spilled guts, chopped off limbs, crushed skulls (for lack of sweetrolls), etc. Which would go a long way to make the game more bloody immersive...
Then more blood splatter during fights and all that - those could be added client side for those who did get the DLC pack, so wouldn't lag servers I would think.

Not quite so sure about PC trophy collection, but... definitely would like to see it for daily bounty hunter quests like the fighters guild gives out in cyrodil...

I totally disagree with you on this and of late it seems more and more game developers are putting in more blood and gore in their games. While I am not against this and believe that yo make a great Single Player/MMO does need to have some realism and blood/gore in it, it is my belief that this game has just enough. They have done great at balancing this out and any more would just ruin the game.

Please just leave the game just as it is.

If you want more of that I suggest you go play dragon age inquisition.

Personally, I don't think I would ever find use in something like this; extra gore would probably come off as really cheesy. On the other hand, I also dislike guar mounts and pet lizards, but recognize that people should be free to purchase whatever items make the game better.

If a bloodshed add-on will make people happier, and nobody is forced to use or see it against their will, then I'm all for it. 100%.
