lag comes down to YOUR connection...

Some of you will trip up on your way to work and blame Zenimax for it

All i see is EP zerging

When you showed clips of no lag they were zerging empty keeps with 1 defender in it

maybe EP can split into 3 factions and stop lagging out the server?

Every major patch looks like the end of the world but somehow i just cannot stop playing.

ZOS abandoned PvP when Craplorn came out. Game has deteriorated ever since.

I'm on PS4, I have no lag or freezing. Sometimes I get an error and disconnect but it's rare. Might be your internet connection or firewall, router etc.

I did almost nothing but PvP for several months straight from Nov 2014 till a few weeks before IC came out. In other words, I know my lag. Everything might be perfect until the walls come down, but once the combat starts, things get hairy. We used to refer to it as "light attack lag" as light attack was the only move that did anything (and didn't bug out your character).

The lag most often hits when two or three large groups clash. However, I've seen it happen to two raids of about 20-24 people each. At the time, we were facing off at a resource near an otherwise unpopulated keep. In this 1-Raid vs. 1-Raid scenario, the game crashed for all but 5 or 6 of us, and all but 2 or 3 of the people in the opposing raid stopped moving (obviously their clients all crashed too). Those surviving were dealing with screen stutter and major delays of about 3 seconds between button press and move execution, then another 3 seconds or so between animation and damage actually hitting. It is incredibly unlikely that 30 clients crashed simultaneously.

What I mean to say is this: the problem with the "it's your internet connection" hypothesis is that the lag affects everyone involved. I am wired directly to my modem/router via an ethernet cable, but my internet speed is not the best in the world. In fact, my internet speeds are not fast at all. I know that many of the people that I used to run with had faster internet speeds/larger bandwidth than myself. However, when lag hit, everyone suffered - even friends who had better PC's and faster internet.

In other words, It's a server-side or coding issue, not a client side issue. Seeing that PS4 and XBox users are experiencing the same difficulties with lag is further proof that there is something fundamentally wrong with this game. Moreover, I agree with what @Alcast in his video: what's truly painful is that ZOS refuses to comment on the subject or even acknowledge its existence.

This game could have been great, and it still might be someday, but it might be too late.

Many PvE'ers who were able to complete the most difficult content stopped playing due to a lack of challenges in the time between Upper Craglorn and IC. On top of that, the RNG of drops (random traits & armor types) resulted in burnout for many more. Lag combined with class imbalance and persistent bugs has alienated many in the PvP community. Although not everyone is interested in elite level PvE & PvP play, we can all agree that fewer people means less fun.
