That lighting patch Fengrush is talking about is in the Craglorn Update patch notes. When they added the lighting improvements to the game, they hailed it a big success in the ESO live show that they did showcasing craglorn. They even hosted the clown that did it to talk about it on ESO live. They probably gave him a pay raise and promotion along with a pat on his back for the job he did.
Game has been wreckt ever since.

Here's some video proof of that! in a comparison video I made, I show you a load of clips of lag, and then there's a happy ending, even though the happy ending is really the past, when the lag weren't this bad now I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm no tech expert or anything like that so I can't offer any constructive criticism on this subject, but after watching the "WE ARE ESO podcast" I know for a fact it has nothing to do with our ISP's because the guys on the podcast who are on PC, also describe the same effects we're getting on console too, and everyone I talk to is experiencing the same and Disconnecting/freezing/complaining about the same stuff! Fengrush also suggests that it may be related to the patch that changed the lighting effects in Cyrodiil or something server related, I can't remember exactly what he said.

Nope we were experiencing Microphone Latency & Drop Issues as well as this video you submitted as well as example (Nightblade Teleport, Teleport again not working, Teleport again not working, Teleports 3x ok now it works a little too well.)

The lighting patch introduced more than just lighting. It introduced code to stop exploiters, cheats and bots.
This code will not be removed any time soon. The community needs to take some responsibility here.
Every time you turn a blind eye to the kids cheating, or in any way big them up you give them more impetus to make use of whatever cheats they can.
THis isnt an ESO issue, this is across the board, every online game is hamstrung by this kind of thing.
Sad really.
I would love to know what the game could be like If they turned off this code, and I was sat in the data center in Germany.
That said, not all lag can be attributed to this code, the stuff showen in the clip for example is either client side or server based. Normally I blame the client, but in the case of ESO we really cant.
I am suprised that its so pronounced on the consoles though, as all the client kit is equal, they should have no problems (or a much easier time) in sorting this

This past year has had some of the best exploits anywhere. AFTER the "Lighting" Patch. Nirn bug,Sharpened bug,the fighters guild expert hunter sploit and its morphs Camo/evil/***,the traps sploit in IC, the teleport stike sploit, the snipe sploit, the focused aim sploit, the MOTG sploit Just to name a few. Did CODE catch this or prevent it? NO NO NO NO. Players did and they reported it. Kudos to the Player base!!!!!
The bot code was given to them before release I reckon they blew it off.
One that could of been really bad was hotfixed this week the "we don't need no stinkin healz refreshing path for chezzburgerz" skill!! Caught by Playaz!!!
We don't need no stinkin code we have awesome players who catch and report.
It's not really going to help anybody to state that lag exists. People need to post what country they are in, what their connection speed is, which server they are connecting to, which campaign they are participating in, what time of day, what their NAT type is, what model of router they have, and whether or not they have updated the firmware on their router.

Haha nice one mate.
Ok, it's mean.. really.. I'm sorry..
But I'm soooo happy console is having the same crap now we've had for over a year.
Maybe that's more of an incentive to finally fix it?
