Hey guys,

So after another nerf to the DK ( now proc rates decreased), I have started leveling my baby NB whos at 42 now. I mean come on. Dk is in such a bad shape already even before the skoria stealth nerf. It barely drops any meteors even with eruption, caltrops, unstable flame and burning breath, blood craze + axes bleed ALL TICKING. Thats 1..2..3.....4..5...6 YES 6 DOTS ticking. It seems ZOS reallllly wants me to ez mode my way to WB spam since its the only build worth running in PVE now for a stam DK. I refused to do that up till now but it seems im left with no choice. Just equip 2 hander and cast rally and proceed to mash face on WB for dps? Why was skoria nerfed in the first place? I have yet to see any official post confirming or denying this (maybe i missed out on something in the patch notes) and now proc rates are lowered even more.... This makes me really sad and ive been playing DK since I first started ESO. But it seems week after week I keep getting kicked to the ground. Sighs TT.TT

You know ive been telling myself that month after month,. But seriously its getting really hard to justify forcing myself to keep playing my DK. Its like the class itself has lost any kind of identity. Pretty much every class can do everything better than the DK now. Hell ive seen NB and sorc tanks do better than the average DK tanks. I feel you. I know exactly what you mean, but I always find myself coming back to the DK one way or another, nerfs and all. I just change around my play style every so often to keep things interesting, and to try and find better ways to make use of the DK.
But yeah, going from that to a class with mobility, high burst DPS, an arsenal of great tools, cloaking.. I think you're going to have a lot of fun for a while. Hopefully DK will get buffed at some stage and we'll see you reppin' again

I feel your pain, sadly I am starting to feel the same about the whole game which is saying a lot because I was so into ESO.

I just hope they fix skoria... I mean yeah they do need to balance out the DK yes but at least up till this point I had skoria. Abd yeah hopefully they fix DK soon or the last few survivng DKs are gona be gone....

If you are talking about PvP then disregard this as I'm thinking of all of the Orsinium is to hard posts. This is the first one I read after giving it (Orsinium) a go for myself.

I've not had a problem with my Duel Wield DK and I don't even use the Steel Tornado thing. Also, I'm still using all of my VR14 Gear and hit VR16 two days ago. My total CP is roughly at 180. The only thing I've had trouble with (or even killed by) are world bosses and that is as it should be if you try to take one on by yourself in open world (not solo instanced).

Oh did I mention this is my crafter? He is not even built to fight. I get about 4k DPS on average and rarely use a potion. The trick is to not stand there and take it. If you get hit in the face with an axe or a fire ball repeatedly you are suppose to die.

I get that your trying to help and maybe see the bright side of the dk. I have cleared dsa, vet dsa, aa, hel ra, and now maelstrom arena up to boss 6 cos I'm lacking the time due to work ( I will eventually clear it by the end of this or next week when I have time), all on my v16 dk. Hell my dk can also Solo the world bosses in orsinium. Takes a while and sometime I die if I'm careless but yes he can do it. ( the ogre and the unfinished dolmen sometimes give me trouble due to the gazillion adds spawning but the rest are cake). I also have a sorc at v16. Questing is so ridiculously easy in this game that it serves as a very bad reference point to see if a class is ok. My sorc is in worse gear with 50% less play time then my dk but is faaaaaar outperforming. And yes my dk is also a crafter ( enchanting , provisioning, blacksmith, alchemist, woodworker). My sorc is my clothier. This is invalid as there is more than enough skill points to pick up pretty much everything you want to a reasonable extent. My dk has 1hs, 2h, DW, bow, all 3 class lines, all 3 armor types, alliance war up till caltrops and vigor ledgerdemain, undaunted 10 etc etc.

The issue here is that the dk dosent really do anything very well compared to other classes. Dps? You want nb/sorc. Heals? Templar please. Tank? (I'd pick a nicely geared sorc or nb here since they pull pretty good dps while tanking).

I still enjoy playing the class more than i dislike playing it, and it still has some unique abilities i enjoy. Mostly reflective scales, but its the little things that keep you going.

ps. I'm not sure if devs are lazy and only giving gina half the info or if it is literately just eruption? i wouldn't be surprised if cinder storm is still on 0.5 sec ticks, and wall of elements also. At the same time I also wouldn't be surprised if they were 1 - sec ticks but ticking the same damage as they did when they were going off every 0.5 sec.

I'm really sad about all the DK and Skoria nerfs. I didn't even have a chance to get my char to VR16 and get Skoria when it was good, so I'm stuck here thinking what could have been...

Magicka DK is still in a good spot for PVE DPS. As far as pvp, based on what I read I'd say it's crap since 1.6.

I've been leveling my DK, VR4 now (should update signature eventually) and I dueled a NB recently. Wrecked his face. Consistently.

Heavy Attack Armor is the name of my build - guess what it focuses on.
My namesake attacks hit harder than Wrecking Blow, actually!

When I get out of Battle Level range my damage, armor and regen should increase, though max stats will decrease.

Nerien'eth is a good set but I use Molag Kena, the on demand SD boost is big for me. Molag Kena is extremely reliant on you or someone else running Elemental Drain tho. I've talked with many DK players and some don't think MK is worth the resource drain so they stick with Nerien'eth.

Valkyn Skoria wasn´s viable anymore when update 7 hit. So just ditch it already.

One of the reasons I QUIT ESO : The game and combat gradually gets worse and less fun.

You see, when you have effects which trigger on hit, like Templars Burning Light, if you reduce the frequency of DOTs you reduce the amount of times the effect has a chance to trigger. Changing DOT's from .5 seconds to 1 second is a 50% nerf in amount of attacks thus reducing the chance for effects to activate. So yes, they increased the dmg of the ticks while nerfing their effect on triggered on hit effects.

For ages I ran with a WW with Ashens Grip. totally under-powered, but man it was epic to have the fire breathing WW XD

Oh yeah it was a sorc, so I also had 30 secs of lightening form too

Understood, and you are correct I wasn't using the reference of Group dungeons either. I'm like you in thinking Solo play in this game is nothing to measure by. I feel sorry for the ones having a hard time with the solo stuff. Even if folks like the solo stuff the most, a group here and there can do wonders for survival in the solo part of this game.

Hah, same. Even on my non-DK characters I'd use Ashen just for the fire breathing. Purely aesthetics because the 5th pc actually sucks really bad.

Yep I'm in the process of levelling a nb who can just use my dk gear when he hits 16. Just need to replace skoria with the kena I have in bank. My dk is now in mid life crisis/semi retirement till ZOS starts givin him some social welfare benefits.

You'll probably get less.

Say it ticks 100 every 0.5 seconds. In 5 seconds, that's 1k damage.

Now it ticks 200 every seconds. In 5 seconds, that's 1k damage.

Bur what happens at 3.5 seconds when the person purges or cloaks?

Old system, they take 700 damage.

New system, they only take 200, as it didn't complete another tick.

Plus it means leas procs on skoria etc
