What if the stamina morph unstable flame would be insta damage without dots and leave the alternative morph with dots for pve?

What you're asking is basically what a lot of stam DKs want: a stamina version of Lava whip, basically an instant cast class skill for stamina.

While I'd be against this change, if no extra morph is available for all skills I know a lot of people who'd be VERY interested in such an option.

but really, certain skills need to scale off your highest mag/stam stat, would fix the problem entirely

I don't know if Lava whip is the right skill to change, maybe Burning breath would be better if they would do it single target and insta damage... but well it would be the same as the Surprise attack from NB xD

Well, that would be totally missing the point wouldn't it? DKs are about sustained damage, that's what the dots are about. I doesn't really make sense for Unstable Flame to morph it into a burst skill. If we want one it should be Lava Whip indeed. And I'd be a fan of that actually. It doesn't have to hit as hard as WB but at least we have something to put on our bars instead of WB. I'm not a fan of WB but in some cases a stam DK has to use this.

But I do agree a nice instant damage skill for stamina would be nice, as long it doesn't break the DK purpose.

The sustained damage I understand is the design for DK. NB are burst damage and I accept the roll of every class as it is, then the solution is not give a DK burst damage, is make it viable in pvp.

I think the problem of the sustained damage is that in pvp doesn't work so well as burst damage.

Hope we hear some opinions from devs soon.

you guys specifically want the lava whip morph with healing i take it> never gonna happen magicka DKs respect your desire for a stam morph but taking away a magicka morph on a class with so few damage spam moves isnt likely to happen. what would be left to damage spam for the magicka dk? destro staff skills? you already have WB and Flurry for single target spam.

why do you think you got 2 dots. because there's so many dots nobody cares if 2 are given to stamina. but whip. people love both morphs for dps or soloing/sustain/healing.

Dots are crap for PVP. Absorbs and blocking both prevent dots from applying all the freaking time, dark cloak removes 4 negative effects which easily knocks off dots. Purge knocks off dots from everyone around you and cleansing ritual gives everyone around you the option to remove dots. This completely ignores the fact that none of the dots in the game hit very hard or stack up to hit very hard so very minimal healing will get you through most dots. Essentially you have to be a very inexperienced player all alone in the middle of no where to die to dots.

If they do not want to create a stamina morph of lava whip (or a stamina morph of any other class skill with some burst damage capability), then they should change the way dots work, in particular through shields.

While unstable flame is very good in PvE, it's currently useless in PvP because of some game mechanics. Please fix this, because stamina DK's should have some alternatives to WB.

I spam it on my mag DK, so why can't stam users spam it instead of wrecking blow?
