Maelstrom Arena Crash Resulting in Arena Reset: Totally Unacceptable

I was on the final boss on veteran Maelstrom Arena, which took me 3 hours to get to. I alt tabbed to see if I could find any information on how to beat it, and when I tried to alt tab back into the game my computer froze. I restarted my computer, and when I got into the game my character was in stormhaven and the arena had reset.

This is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. The arena should save your position incase of ridiculous crashes like this. The arena takes FAR too long to complete for their not to be save points.

Ouch... I crashed on round 4, but was able to log back in and continue. Not sure at what point it is that you get kicked from the arena, anybody know?

That's terrible, glad my pc doesn't do that.

I logged out of a charachter to get something off another while in the middle of round 5 and when I logged back over it didn't reset.

The arena really should just let you take breaks and let you pick up where you left off because of this.

Was stuck in the revive animation at the final boss (veteran). Had to crash the game and it did reset. Extremely annoying.

That was a rollback last night too. I lost about 15-20 minutes worth of quest progress.

I finished the last boss and got a maelstrom two-handed sword and game crashed and I lost my sword. Please put back in my knapsack asap. TY.

Well.... to be fair, the problem was on your end.

If your computer wouldn't have frozen (which normally shouldn't happen) this situation wouldn't have occured.

I don't really expect zenimax to create their game based on what may or may not happen outside of their own game

Rule Number One when a large patch drops...on any game.

When playing every 30mins log out and log back in to save progress.

Roll backs/resets/crashes don't affect you as much then.

Were you by any chance in a group when this happened? A friend has noticed that if he DCs while not in a group, it puts him back in the arena, but if he's grouped with someone for some reason and he DCs, it kicks him out and he loses all progress.. last time it happened he was on the final boss as well.

Second time today, booted at final area, this time i respawned in craglorn, and the arena was reset again...

Please add a better progress save feature for such a long arena. Reaching the end and then have it reset on you due to bugs is extremely annoying.

I understand where your point of view is coming from, but disagree. There are so many people who are experiencing these crashes at the moment, for there not to be a better progression save in Maelstrom is an oversight. That and the fact that most people won't be playing for those extreme periods of time each day (or simply for that arena experience), people are going to be screaming for it.

Game crashes are one thing. You'll be able to get back in game quick enough for the arena to not have reset.

Computer crashes are a whole other thing alltogether.

I notice the wayshrine area causes a massive FPS drop for me. I almost crashed out on round 8 last night. I got the "FPS Bug" and frames dropped to 4 or 5 and did a reloadui and it took like 2 minutes to reload, I'd have rage smashed some things if I had to start over.

I don't have a crappy graphics card btw, its 980GTXI TI. FPS drops just shouldn't be happening in solo content in this game.

Lol yeah reread op, this is one thing I like not saving progress otherwise getting the weapons wouldn't be so hard. Game crash you can still load back in but a full pc crash is on your end
