That you put the cost of materials to craft level VR16 items at the same ratio of other levels. With that cost so high (100/150 pieces of rubedo leather, ruby ash, rubedite) you are just feeding gold sellers. Please it's been nice: they became rich. Now let us craft our stuff.

I'll probably be one of the few but I like the fact that these materials are so rare. There is actual meaning for gearing up and making me put extra thought into which items I want to craft. Seeing as Julianos is widely considered some of the Best In Slot gear setup. It shouldn't be created in 10 minutes of gathering...

It has been stated many times in ESO live episodes and also by ZOS employees that the reason behind making the Vet 16 crafted pieces so 'expensive' in the way of mats is to put the difficulty of getting them on par with the same level dropped sets.. They equalized the 'power' of the top tier gear, both crafted and dropped.. so they equalized the amount of time that you had to spend getting them.. previously getting a full set of top tier crafted gear was MUCH easier than getting top tier dropped sets.. That being said, I highly doubt they will lower the crafting cost for the Vet 16 gear.. the change was intentional and likely not to change

Yeah well it's not ten minutes of gathering. 6 traits takes some time to research. That's enough of a penalty already

What about research times? Are those "On par" with dropped set items? I think not

I smell some sort of sellers here..... :p . To me it is ridicoulous, but if you think it is right that a person should pass his time farming instead of delving, pvping and levelling alts,, go on and get rich selling resources. Orsinium is the heaven for gold sellers: you can see them jumping and sprinting around, getting all the nodes quickly. Every public dungeon is full of farming groups to get crafting pages and sell them for thousands gold on the guild stores. Money, money, money! But the vocal minority likes it, so be it.

I don't disagree that it should take more to make v16 gear... but 10x seems like a little much.
If you want to do a new build at v16? make a set that wasn't the best to use? .... it's not going to be fun to RE do all the gathering.

Which is however by-product of P2W business model and will eventually backfire. If stuff from paid zones is relatively rare (aside from powerful), it makes these zones more desirable. A player could get some whitout buying DLCs by trading with players who bought DLCs, but in order to raise money/resrouces to pay for rare and therefore expensive stuff, he would have to farm something valuable for exchange as well, which would turn up to be hard without buying DLCs, because everything in base game would be a) relatively abundant or b) obsolete, mostly both. So it is either to pay and gear up or not pay and not gear up. Power difference between DLC gear and base game gear is paid for advantage.
But, ironically, players who pay will suffer in the end too, because they will be fed content that will obsolete previous content and introduce ever more powerful gear that adds nothing to the game but need to invest more and more time into increasingly more...not even difficult, just annoying grind, while ZOS will introduce convenient shortcuts to the cash shop for the rich, taking away that 'actual meaning".
With this business model, anything "difficult" is extremely fishy.

Just like was said previously, solo farm Sewers and you can afford them with an ease, even more so now that their price has been reduced to half, which surprised me as I didn't know about it. Had 35k tvs banked for new Orsinium gear, having to withdraw only around 17k, imagine, if it wasn't halved, it would be 34k.

But then again, if you don't have IC...lol

No hate, i totally agree. For the first time since early release i feel like every MOB i kill every plant i pick actually has value.
I had lost that feeling a long time ago when i noticed how useless every drop was and all gear is actually The same and nothing was worth farming for. It should have been like this from the start. One of the best calls zenimax made in a long time.

I've found a very few scattered v16 mat nodes in Wrothgar, among all the jute, rawhide, natural water, and other useless to me nodes. And not one piece of rubido leather in hours of farming. Pretty pee'd off. The eye bleeding grind in the sewers is freaking frustrating.

LOL i just crafted 1 vet16 and vet14 julianos robe and i ve compared the diffrence between them on legandary quaility.
First of all 5th set bonus is same which is 299 spell damage and only 23-30 diffrence on spell crit and magicka. So vet16 items can go to hell all the way down ! with their overpriced enchants !! I will just play with v14s

Take my advice and dont bother with v16 craft items guys. Just craft v16 weapons and stay cool !!!

I'm currently tooling up to make v15 armour for my main which will serve him well enough once he's improved it up and enchanted it.

I found enough materials in Wrothgar to do my writs last night, and had the fun of exploring the place as well. It'll be better once it's not so busy, and give me better opportunities to find those red nodes.
