I haven't seen anything official on this. Read the notes on the expected down time (12 HOURS??) for tomorrow, but they didn't mention if they're resetting everyone's skills again. Anyone have any info on this?

They won't be doing skill resets ever again. The console population QQed a ton when it happened with IC. Appearently it's a lot of work to reassign your skill points on the console? Also console players were complaining they couldn't remember their build. So instead of going through the trouble, ZOS just scrapped the service alltogether.

    Thank you console plebs!

With having multiple characters of different specs , those resets were really a pain and even more painful when it was a character you haven't played in a little while. They should have just added an option for it that you can opt-out when you log on your current character, like a free respect scroll to each character you have but:

1: bound to that character so you can't just keep multiple ones for future skill resets
2: 24 hours expiration time after log onto that said character, that's plenty of time to use it if you really wanted it.

Some PC players ruined it for us too unfortunately :-/

Was it Riko or someone who suggested giving everyone a respec scroll so they can do it if they want? Now that right there is a great idea!

were did you get the idia of that it's the fault of the console people.
most people i heared were people with several vet 16. and because pc release was 14 months before console there would have been more pc players complaining about that then console players

God I hope they wont do that again. It's just a pain to reassign 170+ skill points. They should have at least given us a choice like "Do to the skill changes would you like to reset your skill points" or something like that.

As far as I know... We only got the skill reset because they completaly changed pvp with the unneeded 50% nerf to everything
Magicka DKs needed the re set because we got hit the worst...

Is this verbatim? Have ZOS confirmed no skill reset?

I for one was hoping there would be a reset due to a rather poor life choice of allocating skill points whilst heavily intoxicated one night. Do you mean I will have to fork out gold for my stupidity?

What?? No more free resets after a major change to skills? That blows. I've always seen it as a courtesy to players whose build has been affected. Oh well, looks like more offerings for Stendarr and the crown store...

Personally I vastly prefer to have the free reset, and I have 12 characters (not counting EU). However I can understand that some people don't like it so it seems a choice or a free reset scroll per character would have been a nicer solution.

Because its so hard to respec on pc amirite?

Like honestly it takes me like 5 minutes to spend 240+ skill points its not hard

I can understand with console UI being difficult but yeah I don't get why any PC player would be against a respec

There is more elegant ways ZOS coudldve done it but it but nobody complained before console launch, or atleast not enough and there is a Poll on this forum with like 95% wanting free respecs

I prefer my stuff reset with each major update. I cannot fathom how hard it is to re-do your skills, takes a couple mins max. If you actually played you'd know what skills you'd use. I don't get all the QQ.

If a blanket reset isn't workable anymore because lazy people can't be bothered re-doing their skills. Then give everyone a scroll or the ability to get a free reset when logging on. I don't want to have to pay now to reset because of some lazy QQers.

    Zinaroth is right actually,

Console players threw a fit over resets which is so incredibly dumb and that's coming from a PS4 player.

PS Zeninax if your tolling this thread and you make wholesale skills ability changes give me a reset. Make it a mail token make a one one option when you login to a character but I would like to be reset when you change stuff up.

Well, I have no idea why they don't do resets, but it does appear that they won't be resetting for Orsinium. That's fine. Just wanted to know if I needed to take screen shots of my toons.

It would make sense for them to at least announce it either way, before the downtime, so folks can save their settings if they need to.

What you say? There's no way to save settings? Well, that is a problem. On that note, I wonder if they would ever allow us to save, export/import, trade, and yes, even sell our builds?

ZOS handled the resets completely stupid, and it's sad that you seem to want that half assed service, they should have had a token to reset or just gave you the next reset free, it's not rocket science to offer the same service but make it optional....

As someone who has 16 characters between NA and EU Servers I can verify that there WERE PC people who complained about the forced resets even when they were necessary! I play every day but that doesn't mean I know exactly how each of my 16 characters are specced at any given time. Nobody could without a spreadsheet! Now if you could give me a way to backup my spec's before you reset them so I could just load them with a slash command, that would be mmmmmm Real Good!

If a player BUYS A SKILL/MORPH (with a skill point) and then ZOS changes that skill/morph so it's different to when you bought it, a player would have to BUY A SKILL RESET to get rid of it. Because that new morph isn't what the player bought originally.

it's not rocket science allocating skill points.
