Access Code is wrong?

I haven't played in a couple months and wanted to play again so it tells me I'm signing in from an unknown IP address and sent me a code but the code doesn't work and tells me it's incorrect...do I really have to wait 24 hours until I can try another code? What happens if it just keeps repeating itself and why isn't this code working?
