When will we know who created the Elder Scrolls?

Even though the Elder Scrolls series began since very long ago, if i am not wrong Skyrim was the first time that we saw and touched an acctual Elder Scroll and still everyone was saying that their origins are unknown and they existed forever. The only guess i can make is that Akatosh made them in case the Daedric Princes ally together and try to battle against the Divines and also because there isnt anyone higher in power than Akatosh

Remember in Skyrim that Snow Elf vampire created the Elder Scrolls related to the Tyranny of the Sun as the greatest long con in TES history. That's the only known origin of any Elder Scrolls, I think.

I always assumed that, considering the scrolls do not obey time properly as everything else does, they would have something to do with Auri-El.

This is the key. From our perspective, the Elder Scrolls might as well have created themselves. There is no such thing as a time before the Elder Scrolls.

From their perspective, they just are. There is no time involved. They simply exist.

This is pretty deep.. The chicken or the egg sort of conundrum. I've always been fascinated by the lore so will have to look this one up

Don't other they were just there and no one knows where/who created them. Just let magic be magic after all know the rep of TES 77% sure finding out were a Elder Scroll came from will most likely cause massive history changing events caused by a bad guy who can only be stopped by the "chooses one" by summoning the powers of the goddesses and gods them selves.

We assume everything has a beginning. But what many cannot comprehend is something that is and will always be, but did not begin. For many this does not make sense, but you can make sense of it. This actually isn't even related to the Elder Scrolls, just existence in general.

That's not accurate. Vyrthur created the prophecy, but he never created any Elder Scrolls. Elder Scrolls archive past and future events, so the prophecy was found in Elder Scrolls because they archived Vyrthur's prophecy - probably before Vyrthur even wrote it. Although words like "before" and "after" are meaningless when discussing Elder Scrolls.

The Elder Scrolls may be the cause of our lag problems in Cyrodiil. Too many existing in one place and switching hands too many times might be creating a time distortion.

Look how flexible lore can be at explaining anything, take that lore-break junkies.

Well, according to Paarthurnax The Elder Scrolls are "fragments of Creation", and the ones responsible for creation were Anu & Padomai. So they were, in a way, responsible for them.

I actually don't think any of the gods, daedra, aedra, celestials, etc created the Elder Scrolls. I think the Elder Scrolls are as much a mystery to all of them as they are to mortals.

What? I thought he said he made those Scrolls. Doesn't the prophecy stem from the Scrolls? How could he orchestrate the prophecy without the Scrolls? I'll have to replay that quest line.... I thought he somehow forged those Scrolls, like that maybe weren't legit Scrolls, but seemed like they were.

My theory is the scrolls weren't created, and that's the significance behind the scroll cylinder. Unopened, it doesn't have a real beginning or a real ending. It just circles for infinity into the past and future.
