I don't really want to see anything that permanently alters a players stats in the crown store. I'll tell you what I told the guy looking for a class change - roll a new character, because it's going to be a hell of a lot quicker than waiting for something that might not be coming.

For instance if i want to change my race into a khajiit. Same build, Same class. Everything the same. Why should i need to go through an entire play through which is a huge time investment just to get a little difference is stats?

If Race or even Faction change was in the crown store for 1000 crowns. I don't think anyone would complain. More money for Zos and more happy customers.

I can assure you many players got butt hurt when Bosmer's got that huge buff in stamina recovery.

Race change is a good thing, it gives players an easier route to Min/Maxing a character if they change from stamina to magicka based or vice versa. If you don't want to Race change, don't purchase it.

Race change will be here eventually. But I have serious doubts it will be less then 2500 crowns.

I wish I had somehow patented this question and obtained royalities, because I would be a very rich man by now with the number of times this silly question has been asked. As others have stated, it's much faster to level the race you want with the look you want now, as opposed to waiting for a "potential" race change that's coming "soon".

I so wanted this made my Healer a Redguard back in the Noobie days regretting that decision wanna change to Breton. I'd happily pay 2000 Crowns for a race change scroll,

I'd rather see more character slots available than race changes. Changing your race/species just seems sick and wrong. Still it doesn't bother me too much if someone else does it. Personally, I'd like the option to just make a few more characters, at the very least enough to make 1 of each race: Imperial, Nord, Argonian, Dunmer, Breton, Redguard, Orc, Altmer, Bosmer, Khajiit.

If I had to guess, at the earliest, it's going to be in the class balance update which is up next after Orsinium. That would be a place for it to fit thematically. Especially if the changes include tweaks to racial passives.

If you are changing the race of a character, then you aren't creating an exact replica. By definition.

@dodgehopper_ESO I completely agree with you. Race change is a cop out and just feeds to the FOTM. Create more character slots instead. ESO is constantly changing and so is the meta, so why pay actual money for some meta (that's what race change is all about essentially) that will eventually change in the future? Basically your real money is going to waste. Unfortunately most people are short-sighted and never look into the long term ramifications of changes.

Nintendo Wii U now mate, Wii is a dead console....they had the first next gen console in the xbox one and ps4 race.
It is an expensive letdown.

...read the forums, every time you see an official ZOS comment mentioning "soon" or "working on it", gulp down a shot of your favorite whiskey, vodka, tequila, grog, whatever...


On a more serious note, yeah they have said they are considering it at one point, they have said they are working on in at another point, and noone knows much more then vague rumours at this point. At least, I have heard nothing more concrete.

The logical conclusion is that it Will come, very likely with or as a later addition to the barbershop / character recustomization options. Can't really see them passing on the profits from that one.

It should be at least 5000 crowns + all achievements, dyes etc wiped, and character reset to level 1 in the Coldharbour prison
