Does anyone know what this 5 piece is buffing, is it overall spell damage or the spell damage of the particular element that procs it?

It seem to boost only one element, like the dunmer fire passive.

You know I actually think it might be a good set, that is a lot of spell damage. I think its mostly limited to sorcerers and DK's though, because temp and NB DD's usually run mostly magic damage.

Very interesting, I think its worth comparing to other sets like the new Julianos set.

As the spell damage only effects the element that proced it, I don't think it will do as much dps as you think

Bonus spell damage should be twice as much, otherwise I don't see how it can be useful to anyone, but sorcs.

It's not a bad set at all but it does take some creativity to use it properly.

I don't think this set is bad. Just wery situational.
For example, sorc's Overload will deal a lot more damage, if timed correctly.

Well using it for overload is only going to give you the equivalent of 149 spell damage on average but yeah there are moments when it could be procced that overload could get boosted quite a bit. I just dont think you'll find it much of a DPS gain since switching into overload itself is a GCD so going back in and out quickly will hurt your DPS.

What about crushing shock? wouldnt each element in the spell be affected every 4 seconds its used?

I think you think I'm thinking of something else, I'd like to test it with double destro weapon swapping DK. Probably useless in live, but worth a test I think.

I've been playing around set about a hour or more and I don't see any increase in spell damage when I open the character window the spell damage number is away unchanged no matter what skill or weapon I use, if the bonus is not supposed to show up in the character I don't know how you tell that the bonus is active there's no animation indicating that the bonus is running like glowing hands or something like that as far as I can see and I don't know of any addon that will show increases in spell damage, so at this point I'm about to give up on this set, maybe someone else will test it and have better luck than me.

The bonus only applies to specific Elemental damage and not to spell damage, so that's why it doesn't show up in your character screen. Try hovering your mouse over the tooltip of an ability that it is actively buffing and you'll see the damage increase and drop when it rotates out of that damage type. You'll need to move your mouse away and then back to refresh the tooltip damage. It's kinda like how 2-h swords increase your ability damage without increasing the damage on your character screen.

There should be an animation below your feet that shows what active.

This is either poor attempt to make people use 2x Destro-staff (e.g. Fire + Frost) or Crushing Shock abuse encouragement.
