Wailing Prison?

I admit to not having done a ton of testing on the PTS (and only logging on when I can test my current toons). Today however I tried with a new toon and was greeted with being sent to the wailing prison, etc......basically starting the game as normal. I did the prison, made it to the start but was given nothing special. I guess I was expecting to be boosted to max level with all the goodies but instead.......nothing. How exactly am I supposed to test anything important starting with nothing? (or have I missed some secret button allowing me to bypass the start?)

You can create a character from a template. Do that instead. I can't remember if it is on Character Select or the Character Generation screen. Upper left corner of the screen.

Edit: it is on the character generation screen.

ah ha, I see it now. I knew there was something since others were testing.

I totally ignored the pulldown because it said "none" (there was literally a button I missed! )
