Override an Enchantment

Can this be done?

Always bugged me my MK Shoulders are Max Stamina and not Magika, if I splurge out 20K for a Gold Glyph Magika Boost, will it let me overwrite the current Glyph? Really don't want to buy it and my enchanting is too low to have a play about with it and see what happens?

Yes, the Enchant can be overwritten.

The underlying traits cannot.

Enchantments can be overridden. Right-click, Enchant, select a glyph. Replaces current enchant if you go through with it.

Anyone thinking of buying the will power rings with SD enchantment which is like 80k more doesn't have to? just buy the cheapo recovery ones and buy the glyphs for a lot lot less?

Willpower won't do much, because the traits stay. So you can buy a robust willpower ring but it will still give you stamina.

not what I mean, currently the Willpower with Arcane traits but anything like Increase magika recovery and max magika sell for like 5k, if it's arcane and increase spell damage they sell between 80-100k, doing the math I'd buy the cheaper ones and buy the glyphs, a gold glyph just cost me 11k for max magika. going to hunt for a gold spell damage now and boost my WP rings right up. I even have some Kutas, perhaps someone would even make them for me.

Going nightblade hunting this evening now, should be landing frags at about 17k a piece unbuffed

Where are you finding Willpower jewelry with Arcane traits selling for 5K? From what I've seen, regardless of the enchant, Willpower with Arcane goes for a minimum of around 60K - often a lot more. The only Willpower jewelry pieces I've seen that go for as low as 5K are ones with Robust or Healthy.

I got both my arcane willpower rings for exactly 50k each and the necklace for 10k. Holy crap I can't believe people actually will drop 20k for one glyph lol. I should get into this business

From what I've seen you got a good deal. Frankly, I'm not willing to pay the prices I've seen for the jewelry with the right traits for the set. I'm happier to take my chances with the RNG and use whatever one I get even if the trait isn't ideal. I've also never bought a glyph - I've got a nice supply of Kuta to use up on making my own glyphs anyway (getting those prismatic enchants might be a problem for me, though, so I might have to buy some of those).

The V16 Spell/Weapon Power Glyphs might even be harder to come by than a good deal on jewelry.

Those V16 runes have a very low drop rate, and a lot of people still don't even realize what they are since they have to be discovered during enchanting (ie, they have a question mark by the enchant until you properly use it crafting).

You can buy the VR16 potencies from the TV general merchant, though, can't you? I haven't actually done any of my VR16 gear yet, so I haven't bought any, but I could have sworn that I saw them for sale at the TV general merchant...

You can even put a gold enchant on a green item and get the gold stats. Green items with enchant have green enchants, so if you are wearing a purple looted item like the willpower set youll have a purple enchant, better to reenchant it with gold enchant, gives more.

Yes you get them from the TV merchant for 800 each.

Whoa, really? So I wait until the patch and all of the TV sacks I'm hanging onto go up in value from 80 TV stones to 200 TV stones, and the potency runes I've been holding off on buying go down from costing 800 TV stones to costing 400 TV stones? Score!
