No to PvP Arena

Arena - for people who like to play pvp that consists of skill based small scale pvp
Cyrodil - For those who like zerg balls

fact is - the more people that are in the fight the less your individual skill matters.

IC small scale: 950689659840968 NB's in sneak waiting to gank a solo PvE'er.

Cyrodiil small scale: Slaughtering VR5 roleplayers in Bruma because "It's a PvP zone, expect to die scrubs"

    Not sure who actually enjoys.

This game really needs more structured PvP, but people been begging for a year now and nothing, not even a soon™.

    Yes for PvP Arena!

    But why

Because Cyrodiil is based on large scale PvP, hence AOE cap, hence the whole 'Zerg or Lose' attitude in there, which is fine, it's a big place but not every PvPer likes to roll around in a ball full of players spamming a few abilities in a senseless fashion.

Zergs are laggy, CC Immunity is messed up, Keep-capturing gets dry after a while etc etc

Small scale PvP whether that be Battlegrounds or Arenas, would keep a lot of PvPers busy on this game for years.

This man speaks for me as well

I might enjoy a really well designed battleground with well thought out objectives. World PvP, yesyesyes. Arena, no. Though arena might help get the trolls out of PvP zones.
Disabling the grass may improve performance.

Yes to arena pvp. We need a system for small scale and rewards for the top groups. Say top 10% for win/loss. Cyrodiil is fun, but got old really quick.

    Definitely yes to arena.
Used to play Champions Online, did nothing but arena fights in that game 4v4, for years. Then they introduced some pve quick leveling crap events, nobody bothered with arenas anymore, and i left the game.
So yes, adding a small scale arena will definitely add a few years of playtime, simply because pve can never give as much fun as pvp as long game AI is as good as non existent.

I think that balanced PvP arenas 2x2, 3x3, duels, battlegrounds and other closed pvp just required in the game. PvP players, who likes the Cyrodiil will continue to play there, arenas will lure a new people; it is two different audience with different interests. This make the game is better, and I very hope to see this in game

But there's already an Arena in the Arena District
I know what you meant, but actually it wouldn't be that bad idea if the Imperial City Arena worked as an Instanced place that allows cross-faction grouping (for maximum freedom on choosing: 1-vs-1, 1-vs-X, 3-vs-3, 5-vs-5 etc. modes).

Idk but PvP people are crying over arenas & PvE console people are crying over text chat (like me)

So you say *** the pvp people becuase your not getting what you want? That's just a wee bit childish... I think console should get text xhat and I think pvpers should get arenas....

stop saying pvp ppls, stop assuming the p in pvp means Player and not Players (Players is in number not defined)
there are a Punch of pvpers which never want to see a single bg or Arena in teso.

I am always a proponent of more content, whether I am personally interested in it or not. Having said that, I think some battleground/objective based structured player vs player matches would be fun (king of the hill, capture the flag, etc) which could be implemented in an arena setting. While I know most people wanting an "arena" want death matches I am all for that too so long as it gets only a proportionate amount of developer attention as it draws. Thus if, 10% of players do the arena exclusively then all the balancing required for such a specific niche should not use more developer time that it warrants.

I can not claim the full validity of this article or even if it still rings true, but I always remember stumbling across this article where one of the World of Warcraft developers said adding arenas in the game after launch was one of his biggest regrets simply due to the effects it creates on all aspects of the game: http://www.engadget.com/2009/11/13/blizzard-arenas-were-a-mistake/

I would have no problem with a pvp arena if it did not take away from Cryodiil proper, the IC pretty much made Cyrodiil proper a ghost zone but as the shine wears of players a coming back into the light, and the pvp is picking up.

I have been in a game that had queued up mini games we would be fighting then all the sudden half the people you were fighting with would disappear, not a lot of fun for those of us left behind, I know the arena would not take that many players out of the mix at once, just something to think about.

I wonder how much the supporters for arenas and small scale pvp has thought things through, you think the cries for nerf of this class and that class are bad now, small scale pvp would just exacerbate the poor class balance in this game and the forums would be far worse than they are now. I guess we will see what the future holds.

I'd love a system to set up private team, FFA, or objective based matches. Then you can invite people into the lobby, set up the rules, and have fun with it!

I used to do that a lot in Star Trek Online with my guild, fleet as it's called in that game, and it added many hours of enjoyment experimenting with "what ifs". Like what if an Odyssey class star cruiser goes up against 4 human controlled shuttles? Or for ESO what if that one guildie can take us all on at the same time and win? Silly scenarios like that you would otherwise be unable to due to a character's faction, randoms interrupting you in Cyrodiil, and the inability to get a guaranteed match making of multiple teams vs each other in Battlegrounds. And of course this would open up 2v2, 3v3, etc style PvP tournaments.

    Yes to Arenas from me!

Well, TBH, concept of "Arena" was part of TES Universe from the beginning. So it would be nice if ZOS could offer such a place in some point of the future... Instead of yet another daedric plot to take over the Nirn, Pinky! ;)

Yes its not an system I would use much myself, but they could use the battlegrounds for this as in create your own fight.
12 players or less, select 2 or 3 factions and any combination up to 1v11.
rest is an death match BG, No reward but also no time limit or penalty for leaving.
It would be very useful for BG and cyrodil play.
Yes you can do it in Cyrodil but you need characters in other factions for it to work and you have to do it in an delve as it will attract other players
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.
