How do people test the proc rate of Siphoning Attacks? I've tried looking in my FTC combat log but it is not immediately obvious which ones are SA or if they are even listed in there.

You see in the log of FTC, in CLS, lines with 1944 Magicka and Stamina gain in dark blue font.

This post is going around in circles....

Last time I did a rough test on several abilities the proc rate was 8-10% for all those abilities. See post #29.

I did just now a very small test with only 120 ticks of Twisting Path (and a few Swallow souls to stay alive) on one enemy and 13 procced. That fits with the 10% proc chance.

We really need a genuine ESO combat log per ms that can be dumped in a PDF and that we can file and compare now and then.

    EDIT added:
What I do now is to take a standard enemy of which enough spawn in a certain location. Then use the chosen abilities and scroll after every fight line by line the CLS of FTC and make notes.

That is terribly clumsy compared to a mere PDF dump from ESO self, where I can put behind eachother several of those repeat fights and summarise to statistics.

Would also make it much easier to check key abilities after patches

    plzzzz ZOS

Well it isnt the proc rate that i think is broken... It is the cooldown. It was 1 sec while it was still a toggle (which made sense bc it was free) then i swear the cooldown disappeared when t when to active skill... Now it has a cooldown again. Not to mention they lengthened dot ticks... Frustrating.

    ok
    Now I understand.
And the Cool Down is that 1.0 second again.

Bit by bit Siphoning Attacks has become more and more challenging !!!
Parallel to the "no Stamina Recovery during Blocking" that got hundreds and hundreds of posts...

Parallel..... SA was nerfed 3 times !!!
    1. It costs now Magicka to cast it
    2. The return is now fixed values, which more than halved the Magicka return for Magicka NB's.
    3. The SA return on Twisting Path was halved by changing the 0.5 seconds in 1.0 seconds. (the net return after deducting the costs of Twisting Path often negative for Magicka)

All three reduced the net Magicka return

Precisely! And i cant tell anymore what procs it... Twisting and caltrops yes... Veil? Cripple? Shades? Any other dots? Who knows anymore lol... I just use everything and hope i get a proc.

I really don't mind the 1 second cooldown, but each SKILL SOURCE of proc should be independent in terms of cooldown. i.e. If i have cripple, caltrops and twisting/refreshing active i should be able to get a proc from the same mob from 3 sources... Each with a 1 sec cooldown. sap will only give 1 total proc per second regardless of the number of mobs, so you need that aoe dot proc return or you just cant sustain. Im not suggesting each mob give 3 procs in the above scenario, i just mean each skill used should have a chance to proc independent cooldowns.

I've been testing siphoning attacks and siphon spirit from the resto staff tree and I found the later more reliable. The problem is the 1.5 sec cast time but it works quite well with any spamable skill (sap esence/strife)

Though the healing needs a buff.
