I wouldn't call it a fix to let Cyrodiil die, but yeah. If that happens it's because in it's current state it's barely enjoyable anymore. So, better than nothing.

How do you kill that which has no life?

No.. just no... go play GW2, WoW, RIFT, whatever if you want that.

Cyro is big enough to get a bunch of friends together and fight it out somewhere if you really want set up fights.

I did play all those games, and I enjoyed the structured PvP immensely. I would like to enjoy it in by far the best title of the 4; this one.
You don't, and that's cool - I can't imagine it will be implemented as mandatory.

we need to keep threads like this going so Zos has to look into the strong demand of what us pvp players actually want.

So I should quote you and write something random just to bump it? Is that what you're saying?

The availability of PVP action in Cyrodiil is something that needs to be addressed if eso is to have a healthy future. At this point in time I find myself getting an urge to play eso maybe only once every week or two (~1 year ago I was playing 4+ hours a day) and if I go more than ~30 minutes without finding a good fight I log out. It just isn't worth the wait anymore to me, other games satiate my desire for instant actions (and if I want to wait around for hours looking for a fun fight I will go play EVE). If cyrodiil was as active as it was this time last year, I'd be right there. It's just too much downtime these days and not enough good back-and-forth skirmishing.

Are battleground-like things the answer? Maybe, as long as they continue to update the BG system after cyrodiil becomes completely empty. The bg event areas they described before (where the towns in Cyro are like a "king-of-the-hill" area) sounded like a great idea, it keeps people in cyro while giving something new to do; concentrates people but not all in just one spot. It seems like the best idea they proposed so far, I don't know why it hasn't been added yet (it sounded like they had done a lot of the dev work on it).

But yeah, everytime I log on Cyr feels more and more like a ghost town.

I agree man. There is a terrible lack of pvp incentive anymore, IC is pve, lacks pvp objective/rewards.
One thing that can improve pvp in terms of having constant action is only having 2 campaigns, I know this will potentially increase lag but honestly then they should throw more hardware at their servers

I think Cyrodiil needs a re-think to be honest.

First thing first, a load of top tier gear to be earned by doing PVP, including lower levels for the non vet ones.

Then a re-think on the actual battles. Personally I'd like to see shorter campaigns, like 12 hours. Where you get rewards at the end of it. I think some of Cyrodiil could be broken up and made into smaller scale pvp. Like the op said 10 v 10, 25 v 25 that sort of thing. I also think they should remove guest and home campaigns and instead have a call to arms function with more xp/rewards for campaigns that are losing. Also an official dueling area for mixed factions and maybe even some PVE PVP, if that makes sense. Horse racing, archery tournaments, cards. (probably getting a little carried away though)

Having played WoW for many years I can honestly say that I don't miss it all that much, but small scale PVP like Alterac Valley and Warsong Gulch are the area's I do miss. I'd absolutely love a capture the flag type battle zone with the ESO combat and lore.

I remember saying as much in the early day and many people were against it because it would detract from Cyrodiil. I wonder if they still feel the same.

Wonder the same thing, just can't see how people can still defend or remain hopeful for cyrodiil after this long in the current state it's in.

Upon release I would have disagreed. Of course where 2 or 50 are gathered, lag will come. But I hate having to run around for 10 or even 30 minutes before find any action. And even if I manage to find action, it's just me being roflstomped by 30 enemy players while I'm trying to harvest a rune. Sometimes I just want to hop in and play. Something instanced, any type of mode. Just something different. IC was a decent effort, but I was done with it before it even went live. I've cleared the dungeons, got my gear, and I'm back to defending on ground level.
