account not found, but characters are?

so ran into a problem of nobody is able to whisper or contact my account via things like friends list or guild list. however if they find my character and manually whisper me that works fine, as well as people whispering my character name. however they cannot whisper my @name.

I am not set offline or anything ever then "online" so that is not the problem, and my @name has any special characters or letters other then a '

this is still a problem, I sent in tickets and even reported myself (lol) to try and get a response or fix, still nothing.

What is your account name and what server are you on? Has it worked in the past and suddenly stopped working, or has it never worked?

That's odd, as I can't see any reason for it to have stopped working, and there's nothing strange about that account name other than the '. Do you have any add-ons that may be causing you to appear Offline even though you aren't? A standard ZOS response I think would be to suggest disabling all add-ons and then getting someone to try messaging you again.

Have you sent in /help tickets in-game, or submitted one from the Support website? I don't know if the treat them differently, but I've received a response from /help before.

I have sent in a ticket but I will again.

and I am not running any new mods but of course I will remove them all and try again.

i have a friend in a similar situation; he is online but doesn't show to be online in my friends list. none of his other friends can see that he is online, either.

however, i cannot whisper him directly or interact with him in any way (trade, group, etc) when i manage to find him in-game.

we can mail each other through the esotu mail system, but that is all.

this problem began after the latest maintenance.

well i contacted customer support and they wrongly blamed it on a character of mine that has a í character in the name and tried to rename it to no success. I'm probably just going to submit a account name change request and see if that fixes it

i've seen that error before with character name that had an umlaut.

i have too, people were unable to contact the character via whisper because of it, however were able to contacnt the @name, I have the reverse problem, people are able to whisper my character name just fine, but not my @name.
