AWESOME AP is still totally useless, except for collectors to get some bad looking gear.ZOS_GinaBruno wrote: »NEW FEATURES / UPDATES / BIG CHANGES - BASE-GAME PATCH
Akaviri Crafting Style
The secrets of the Akaviri crafting style have been uncovered by scholars on the front lines of the Alliance War!
- Siege merchants in Cyrodiil will sell chapters of the Akaviri Style for large amounts of Alliance Points.
- The merchants will also sell the raw style material needed to craft Akaviri items, Ancient Scale, for a modicum of Alliance Points.

So you are confirming that AP is still relatively useless outside of cosmetics. Gotcha.

Except this gives you the ability to convert AP to massive amounts of gold easily and buy whatever you want.

upping the vendor stuff to max level would be, in a word, awesome
I used to spend about 20K a day PVPing (wall repair costs mostly, but siege and potions generate a lot of costs). With IC, the removal of the vendor bags killed my income to the point I and a lot of my PVP guild can't quite afford to PVP hardcore anymore. It's a seriously costly endeavor, so... me? I'm happy as a clam. This is one of the things I was suggesting for a long time (though also giving players the ability to craft their faction armor motif).Like the old days when AP was a good money generator.

Definitely a step in the right direction!

Questions:
1) What is "a huge amount of AP" ?
2) Will the chapters be tradeable?
Considering each chapter is going to cost "large" amounts of AP, would you consider lowering the price of repair kits? I went through 73k AP on them in a single day (granted it was a Saturday and busy). If you can't lower the prices, then they could have a lifespan of 5 uses, but you receive the same amount of AP from each kit.

So being able to buy crafting mats and new motif for Akavari with AP which is nigh on useless now is cosmetic and useless?
Not too sure what you read:P
Sounds way better to me than pure rng on writs or drops or buying motifs or w/e.

I read the same thing you did. You might want to reread what I've said though.ZOS_JessicaFolsom wrote: »Just to clarify, for the Orsinium patch, the new thing coming for AP is that you can use it to purchase racial motif items for the first time (Akaviri chapters and the Akaviri crafting material), as the patch notes state. Like I said, it's relatively useless outside of cosmetics. People will pay gold for cosmetics, I didn't think that I needed to dumb it down that much.
Will I buy the motif and sell it to the suckers who are willing to overpay for it to have it on day one? You bet. Am I happy that it's still relatively useless despite this? Nope.ZOS_JessicaFolsom wrote: »
This is nice at least. Giving us vendor bags and armor that scales to the highest level would be a great area to do this at again.
Do you have any time table for any of this stuff? It's been a long time since we've had a Road Ahead or any indication on where PvP, or any part of this game is headed.

Aye agreed, elite vendor shizzle upped to Vr16 with the new ways to spend AP would be great IMO

ZOS want people to buy their DLC. For better or worse, it is how the company makes money now. If you could buy best-in-slot endgame gear with AP, there would be no need to buy the DLC. No VR16 gear with AP is akin to no VR16 gear from Trials/DSA. Those are not oversights. It is not something they did not have time to fit into the development schedule. They are deliberate decisions. You can earn AP without buying the DLC. You can run Trials and DSA without buying DLC. They are not going to incentivize running base game content.
