What is the problem with group finder?

Is it that nobody uses it or is there a problem/bug with it. If its a bug or something I can understand all the complaining about it but if people are saying it doesn't work just because nobody uses it, well then the problem isn't with the group finder. I have no idea which it is, can someone clarify this for me.

Sometime it works sometimes it doesn't so its buggy at best. At least on the PC you have chat to get a group but on consoles its pretty hit or miss.

On PC, I have used it and it managed to form a group of nothing but DPS. No one had anything but DPS flagged on their end.

Also, I have used it where a group was formed, but then 2 of the members were afk. I've also had it form a group, and then 3 of us had to wait for one person, because they didn't want to stop what they were doing to join us.

There's several reasons why people don't really like using it.

Sounds like a problem with it no selecting the right roles for a group, should be an easy fix for ZOS but it seems like they don't care.

As far as people being AFK, not sure how it works but is there not a pop up you have to click once the group forms, an AFK player wouldn't be able to join the group then, maybe there are just trolling, had that happen a lot in other games where the group finder worked good. nothing you can do about trolls though but kick them.

And for the person that didn't want to come in the dungeon because they didn't want to stop what they were doing, that's just an A clown being an A clown.

I always use the Looking For Group tool first. But often you need to use 'lfg' in the zonechat because there's no one using the LFG tool.

Often I want to start a group, with the preferable roles that I know, but you need to find first and add a person. After that you can define roles which you need such as a healer, tank, ... that you'll need

The annoying thing is that you can Join A Group, but not create one yourself.

One thing is sure:
If the tool would work properly, or enough people(?) using it, the Zone chat wouldn't be spammed with 'lfg'.

I stopped using it months ago.

I've been lvling my DK recently so I thought, you know what? I'll queue up and give it a go (I'm like lvl 15) then 2 hours go by and I remembered that I queued, so I left it and carried on with my quests.

People don't want to use it because it doesn't work.

Now if that is due to lack of people then they need to add some incentives to using it.

It can take hours even when queued as a tank, most of the time when it does pop it doesn't even form a full group. It should also port the players to the dungeon they are doing (allow a 60 second count down like Cyrodiil queue) to help remove confusion.

Its Sunday and prime time. Ive waited 30 min in queue for new dungeons, nothing. Just do what Ive said. Add some powerful item, purchasable from Crown store or found somewhere in the game or craftable, what you can use to put requests, when request is put on, every player online sees it on their UI and can help and are of course rewarded for doing that. Id imagine if they gave some cool new armor, some people would do help players and do nothing else, Carebears dream if you will. The fact is that ESO has way more group-content than players.

Btw, they said they improve the group finder in November as far I know.
