Bought this game about 2 months ago. Was so much fun. Thought to myself, "this is the game I'm going to spend all my time on, nothing else."

Then IC came out, and I'm seriously distraught because it's like something that was going to make me so happy was absolutely crushed. IC was just so bad, it ruined the game in so many ways, and I'm just... depressed now. I put so much time into those two months, it was right before college started, and I had a ton of time. Now, there's nothing for me in this game. Just a VR16 lump of pixels. Can someone please tell me it will get better?

Here is a novel idea. Since you have less free time and need something to fill the void, why don't you put that energy into your studies and experience the college social life! Come back in December on your xmas break and hype yourself up to play the upcoming DLC expansion.

"Just a VR16 lump of pixels" That's all any of us have. No matter how awesome a time you have in a video game, you never get anything but an experience at the end.

The problems start when people see their time in an mmo as some kind of "life investment". It is really a bad idea to take this kind of stance over something you have absolutely no control over. Game could shutter it's doors tomorrow and your "investment" goes *poof*.

My advice is don't hang on to a game in the hopes that it will "get better". If you are not having a good time, find something else to do with your free time. Leave advice for ZoS when you quit as to why you left.

If you want a hobby that gives you something at the end, take up a sport or something. You get real lifelong skills, fitness, health and social benefits that are way better than playing video games.

The other games competition wise have stated they plan to support the game for x amount of years. It makes it easier to spend your Time and money in and the game knowing you have 9 more years to go.

If you are trying to make youtubes or become a streamer or make income gaming related this uncertainty also does not help. It's easier to go to a more populated game to get your start. If that game has a definite fan base with a definitive 10 year pLan you are more inclined to stay.

Finally what if this guy had hid share of tail in high school? What if he's trying to max his new gaming rig. The responses I've read here are not acceptable.

IC = 2 new instances and the Tel Var trader for V16 Repora runes, that' all.

Otherwise it is the most disgusting combination of grind + rng I have ever seen in a MMO.

I'm in the same boat. I stopped playing, giving it 'til October 15th so ZOS can hopefully make some changes.

I used to PVP hardcore, but PVP has just been fractured since IC. I don't want to have to grind for X hours just to be able to get a competitive build, then run out to fight... only to find out that the rest of my friends/guild are still grinding to make that VR16 suit so THEY can be competitive, too.

IC turned into a grindfest, and... I don't like grinding. At all. Period. I don't play Asian MMOs for a reason. I really like IC, but NOT the grind. The Trophy and crafting resource chase is just agonizing. And the entire end-game loot drop has been nerfed into oblivion. There's no reasons to get chests anymore. No reason go after Treasure Maps. Oh, cool, I can get malachit shards, combine them, and not be able to sell 'em after?

    Meh.

Imperial City is a REALLY good DLC, and ZOS put a lot of amazing work into the VO, the environments, details and lore... but the gameplay mechanics just bring the entire endgame to a halt.

That's a philosophy and coping mechanism of someone who doesn't win. Look if another game has a 10 year plan, giant fan base, huge opportunity, and the game runs well and smooth than they understand winning. They must be young

Your statement is a philosophy and coping mechanism of someone who hasn't lived long enough to figure out the way the world works. When did this cry thread turn into a discussion of which game is the best to make money being a streamer on? P.S. , the chick in Big Daddy left Adam Sandler for a guy with a "5 year plan," we all remember how that worked out. Bahahaha, old balls.

I deserved that. It's fair to post that. It doesn't feel good to see the picture projected through the perception you formed through the words I chose. However, its a true statement. If you want something you go after it.

As far as the other guys post. Every element shapes a game. There are many factors beyond traditional. Pro gaming and money making opportunity is one. Whether its cods new league, halo 5 HCS, streaming destiny, which those guys wipe their frosty beverages off with $100 bills, those are a few elements. Popularity, as in having people to play with.. People to watch your stream, your youtubes. Can you promote products through partnerships off of your stream? Will the game have a 10 year support? Does it run smooth? Do bugs and glitches get fixed?

The fact this guy made a legit post and the responses were to do something else, and wait until the next update in which tons of mega games will be released is dumb.

    1. Any game company can say they plan on doing "x" forever. As long as their legal ToS says "we can shut it down at any time and there is nothing you can do about it", then who cares if they "plan on" supporting a game forever. Plans come and go in mmo land all the time.

    2. I missed the part where the OP was saying he wanted to become a pro youtuber. That must be why he is going to college.

    3. You can never have your full share of tail. Are you crazy or something?

All ZOS had to do with IC was add a great PvE quest to rid Molag Bal's army from the city and then offer some great PvP challenges like "claim a district" (4v4v4) or "Arena Duels" (cross or same faction).

That would have actually been pretty epic. I agree.

Combat mechanics and a chain of abilities in a fighting game fashion is the strength of this game. The game needs to use its strength. That means PvP. Also a spectator mode to watch duels. The view from a distance is boring.
