We really don't need and arena, if that happen more people will complain in the forum about nerf this nerf that:..: I cannot kill him because I have to many champion points, my build should kill everyone pls nerf all the other guys allow them to have only 5 champion points and let me use 1000 and things like that so the devs will start to nerf every skill and we gonna finish fighting with light and heavy attack

I would love this. I prefer 1v1's, 2v2's, even 3v3's over the giant zergfest that is Cyrodiil. Wandering around Cyrodiil to find those fights does occasionally find you a good one, but usually it's just a lot of boring wandering around with the occasional encounter where the other person is mostly just taken by surprise and not prepared for a fight.

If they implemented this type of arena, I would live there.

Yes, we need an arena style pvp. Then this game would have all sorts of pvp options and that would be a great thing.

Although I imagine the Queue times for this would be astronomical to the point where there would be a million forum rage topics on the subject. Wait. Maybe I should have said no......

I think they do need to work on the queuing however I think it could work if they had a better system in place for that

I don't think the game would benefit at all from something like this.

I do think that the Cyrodil Campaigns should vary in size and features as well as IC by campaign.

There is an arena in IC so, perhaps if adjusted this would accomplish both.

By itself I don't foresee benefits to taking PvP away from where PvP currently exists.

So essentially you are saying you want players in IC or Cyrodiil by force rather than choice? Its not "taking" anything away, its adding options.

Now it sounds really selfish to me that you would want force players that prefer 1v1 into 1vX just because you prefer it.

Selfish is that you expect my opinion to be within consideration of your opinion. Perhaps I felt other comments are selfish so I shared my own comment without quoting others.

The topic asks for our opinions. The topic isn't being considered or discussed by ZOS, it's just a discussion.

I've also shared my own ideas on my page about battlegrounds that follow my comments. It's on my wall

Cyrodiil is built for large groups. That is what they advertised from day one. If people want to 1v1 or 3v3, give them a place for it. The idea that concerns about dividing the population should stop this is poorly thought out. If people don't care about keeps and scrolls or large scale combat, why should they be forced into Cyrodiil?

The main downside of an arena is that it is yet another thing that must be balanced. For this reason, they might be best to avoid 1v1 arena that would be futile for certain builds (and would lead to many people with those builds crying in the forums).

With the cp power gaps, splitting up pvp players even more, you think the IC killed cyrodiil proper anything like this would nail the coffin shut, pre-made groups, all reasons for no arena, I can see the lfg must have 500 cp to group, until ZOS gets a handle on the cp power gap any kind of queued up battle system would be horrible. Not to mention the total rebalance of toons, even more constant calls for nerfs, we think the game is not balanced now this would exacerbate all the imbalances in in the game.

All the "imbalances" you're talking about are NOTHING compared to the imbalance of sheer numbers of players. I can't grind for more than 15, 20 minutes tops in the IC sewers without getting gangbanged by a squad of 2-4 gankers or a zerg of 12 or more. However, on those RARE occasions when I'm lucky enough to 1v1... my odds of victory go way, way up.

An arena with 1v1, 2v2 and 4v4 options would be SO much more fair than the situation we have now, where loners and smaller groups just get steamrolled.

Apples and Oranges. It isn't like there will be TV stones in the arena.

There is currently no place for 1v1. Nothing in this game was designed for 1v1. Of course 4 combatants regularly kill off a single combatant in war. That is how it should be. So the argument for arenas is not a comparative one. The argument is that they should provide a feature for even numbered groups to face off. While they are at it, they could also add a steal cage match, and other variants.

The main argument against this would be level of interest. I support the arena concept in principle, but I have zero interest to participate in it.

only if it's done like how arenas traditionally were and not the absolute mess that WoW's arenas were from the get go. Don't let it become the pvp focus, or the metric for class balance because that'll just lead to a removal of all our skill lines for "everyone was just playing cookie cutter anyways" systems.

The arenas shouldn't just be 2 teams...there could be leagues where 2 teams battle it out for sure but there should also be things like free-for-all "melees" where it's every man for himself. There should also be situations where there are 3-8 different teams composed of 2-6 players per team. Also elimination matches similar to the martial arts tournaments you see things like Dragon Ball where it's 1v1 till you get to a champion. All of this with an actual arena with hazards, traps, and an environment working against all involved.

Can't stress enough though how much I don't want such a system to be like WoW's arena system, because it's uninspired and was one of the first of many steps down the ladder of the dumbed down game it's become today.
