Anybody else worried that our Armor sets will need to be replaced 3 months from now?

Zos made our V16 gear extremely hard and very expensive to obtain, dropped gear has a very low drop rate and the crafted gear takes a ridiculous amount of mats to craft. I'm usually fine with that, I'm not a fan of getting a DLC and getting everything done in the first week, I like there to be an obtainable goal when u play my mmo.

My problem is, that with Orsinium coming in December, Zos will be releasing new gear sets, some of which will most likely be better as a way to entice people to purchase the DLC. So now I feel that takes away the will to grind these new sets since they will most likely get replaced by the time I get them.

Anybody else feel like this is going to happen? Should the best gear be made more obtainable now that Zos plans to release a DLC every 3 months with new gear sets?

Since the VR isn't going up I imagine that any new gear will likely give you more/different options for builds rather than being more powerful.

This most likely. No increase in VR means armour likely wont be more powerful but rather have new unique bonuses for more variety. Hope so at least.

New armour sets, new weapon sets, new jewelry sets. Hopefully in 2, 3 and 5 sets so various sets can be combined in more ways.

It is logical to predict that with Orsinium, VR will be raised to 18 (though they say it prob won't be), that it will take 1500 materials instead of 150 to make a single piece of craftable gear, that there will only be *one* jewelry set that obsoletes the three in IC, and that PVP folks will be furious that they have to grind in a PVE area to stay competitive in Cyrodiil.

Oh, and better get out your nerf umbrellas.

    I'm not bitter, though. Honest.

    Sounds fun.

Lol you clearly don't understand zos's stance on providing the most basic and boring gear attritbues.

I would LOVE to see this, but highly doubt it will happen.

It's actually not part of the game yet... This will be their first time releasing gear every 3 months

You may also want to be wary that ZOS will also nerf some of the gear that came out with this DLC between now and then.

Hes not wrong. The whole reason they added two new levels with IC was because of how unimaginative ZOS can be.

I would like more gear progression but not quite so grindy. Although, grinding gear is more sure thing than RNG boss drops.

uh no it's either gonna be VR18 with VR18 gear costing 200 mats cause ZOS hates crafters or vet ranks will be removed and the level cap be like 81 or 100 or something still making that end game gear cost 200 materials to make cause again ZOS hates crafters.

I'm far more worried that content I'd like to continue using will fall further behind unless they start to scale it.

That being said (cause I just can't stop saying it) I'm hoping that there will be new gear and some old gear will get an update.

    I don't understand.

Don't we want new goals to go for in PVE?

If we don't have any, we have literally no reason to play other than PVP, but it will remain static without new changes, and right now it seems like everyone complains about the current state of PVP.

The problem is how ZOS is basicly forcing every one to either grind for drop sets or spend days to weeks farming for materials right now.

Worried is not the right word. Resigned is.

There will be new 'must have gear' in order to sell the DLC. Something from that release will become part of the new end game 'meta' that all the no-lifers must have. There will be forum rage, complaints about the in-game economy, yada, yada, yada.

Someone is going to complain that they spent weeks trying to save up for the perfect set, that his wife abandoned him whilst pursuing all those gold tempers, that sores developed on his backside because he was trying to put in the time to be competitive at endgame, yada, yada, yada.

I'm quickly becoming of the opinion that if you spend more than 15 hours a week playing the game, you should be banned from the forums. Whatever changes they make in terms of level expansion or new gear, everyone else is in the same boat. If you're so worried that something changed and pushed you from your comfortable position, you've obviously not spent any time outside the game. There are two great tyrannies in life, one of them is that things will change. Accept it, welcome it, love it.

    Why shouldn't they be replaced?

I mean so many people are saying CP is a way to progress your character. And those same people are raising hell over the incoming CP cap by saying that the cap makes them not want to play due to not feeling like they can progress their character anymore.

Gear progression WORKS! That is why every successful MMO has used it.

At least ESO is easy enough that you can complete all content without the best end game gear.

The only people that will cry about having to change the gear are the ones that are aestheticly challenged! B)

TL;DR: Farm more and sell to buy your gear.

Nope. I came into the new patch 3 weeks after launched. I grinded sewers for 2.5 weeks, decrafting everything and selling everything I could (mats, trophys). I was able to buy/craft everything else I needed since then and am in complete gold PvP gear/crafted 4 piece gear. Hell, still grinding and selling stuff I'm up 250K gold since DC never wants to leave IC to do PvP topside. It took me 2.5 weeks to buy everything I needed after selling all the crap I farmed. Concerned? Nope.

However, dropped gear, I will agree that these pieces are very difficult to obtain. I would be upset from weeks of grinding, finding all the necessary items and traits needed to have them outdated.

OP it's a given that all of the IC gear and content will be deemed obsolete with Orsinium. It's a question of how bad ZOS is going to ruin the current stuff we have.

Also, prepare to grind Orc Teeth for gear.

    10 Orc Teeth = 1 Orc Jaw
    10 Orc Jaws = 1 Orc Points

    100 Orc Points = 1 Craft Material

You also need Orc Glue to paste the jaw together. 100k at the local Fighter's Guild.

WOW actually had a decent system of PvP gear because:

    1. It was based on doing PvP and not grinding boring PvE crap for weeks on end.
    2. It was based on skill, you had to obtain a tier to open up new sets, so you could in effect save your AP and then try and get a certain tier to unlock the better gear. This created more players PvPing instead of leaving the game because it was challenging.
    3. You could in effect get 1-2 peices of PvP gear per week so it felt like progress with and end game and not rng frustration based on nothing.

I know it wasn't the perfect system but it sure beats what ESO is currently doing, if they would only apply a similar stage based gear system and stop mixing rng pve stupidity or ridiculous farming mat costs.

Also they need to look at the new set meta and how it does not apply the same builds to dual wielding as people using 2 handers, it silly that you cannot even build the same sets if your weapon changes.

I imagine the developer meeting at ZOS are just giant lists of compromising and bad ideas.
