It's gonna be very low because they're suppose to gain new players not keep us competitive, and after ic they loose so many players I wan in a guild with 90 people on Xbox one, now only 7 play, so they already now that they cannot lose more players, if we already pass the ic patch we gonna stay for a long time

The Cp system has been out for a long time now, assuming the cp cap is going to coming in 2-3 months that means if the average right now is 400-600. In 2-3 months the average will be probably 800-900 so to give those people more time to invest and get cp,the first cap should be atleast 1000-1200 depending on how long the caps last.

Based on the recent CP poll, the average is closer to 200-300. ZOS said they want to inconvenience as few people as possible with the cap, but on the other hand, if you place it too high it won't have any real effect at all.

I further question your estimates for 3 months from now. You assume 400 CP more than today, but this requires earning over 4 CP every day. Completely out of reach for the average player.

Still, I might have voted a little too low. A cap around 500 would nicely cover most of the population today, but this will need to be revisited when Orsinium comes out - whenever that may be.

Way off.....maybe you're just feeling entitled to "competitiveness" or a "power level" you didn't work towards? The reality is I'm a successful engineer who works hard for everything I have including CPs. My opinion is to not ask for hands outs or for a trophy for just showing up to try-outs.

Which is why it is important for people not to expect too much from the cap. It will only be to remove the excesses. They cannot put is so low that it starts affecting people who have done nothing very remarkable to get where they are, except having gotten here early, recovering their enlightenment and perhaps a bit more.

Rich has said they are also working on a catch-up system. If you're low on CP that is what you will have to pin your hopes on.

Please stop making requests for game features. ZOS have enough bad ideas as it is!

Don't really care what the cap is either way, but seems like 500 would cover more than 90 percent of players. It's also probably about the limit of what would strain the power gap for a new player starting today. I would bet the actual cap will be closer to 300, and of the more than 50% who are below that, most will not hit the cap by the time they get ready to raise it.

I firmly believe that any cap should only affect PVP. Let everyone accumulate as many CP's as they want to use for PVE.

a player who is not dedicating his time entirely to pve is averaging the enlighted CP + every now and than an additional CP
so a casual not dumping his Vet chars all the time would have assuming orsinium release around the 16/17th of december to profit from christmas 9months of 1cp per day (270) double that and you are at 540 CPs wich does not require tons of dedication add on top of that a small amount for the more entitled players and you are at around 600 cps.

with that amount of CPs you would aswell have to make tough decissions as you are unable to max out one arm of the role-trinity entirely.

I would say 800. So 400 per DLC.

For people who voted 600, please think that we get (for average players) ~2 CP per day, and Orsinium will be released at end November / mid December. so in ~70 days ( = 130/140 CP).

If you think 600 will be the cap and you already have 470+ CP, you're already at cap, so slow down a bit.

    No, we really don't.

And there's no way we'll get Orsinium in November. No problem with your proposed cap, though. I don't really care what it will be, to be honest.

I used to think that way back when CP was relatively low. A few days ago I fought a terrible player with 1200 CP. I was enlightened by the experience. Thats 1200 CP. Lets talk about what 600 CP buys you.

+24% Damage Done, +24% Regen, -24% Damage Taken, -24% Ability Cost. This is insignificant in your "engineering" mind right? Go back to school.

Just because these scrubs can play 10 more games of chess than you or I can each day, doesn't mean they should start each game with 4 queens.

All they are doing is AOEing NPCs all day with EXP pots. Why should that be rewarded in PvP?

First of all, I don't think there's such a thing as a terrible player with 1200CP. Chances are they have a pretty good grasp on the game mechanics and how to play their toon.

Second, how did you know how much CP they had?

If implemented today, I would say around 500 is reasonable. The longer we wait, the higher that number would go. People might be sick of others whining about CP caps, I am personally sick of people acting like the CP gap is not a huge issue. It affects leaderboards just as much as 1v1, so the PvE/PvP distinction is meaningless.

While I am concerned about the ever growing power power gap as a result of the CP system, I am more concerned about the ability to retain the current player base and more importantly, generate new players. What player in their right mind is going to join this game today? I love this game, but I frankly wouldn't advise anyone that wasn't prepared to grind for 3 months to try ESO. Not only is the current vet rank system a huge barrier to end game, there is a bigger CP barrier that is growing by the minute. My guilds and friends list are shrinking, not growing. That's a problem, and I believe this to be one of the big causes.

I am all for people that play more to have an edge, but the current state of this game is grind to win. That's a problem because without casual players, this game dies. The game needs seasonal caps and catchup mechanics if they want it to be around in 5 years.

Disclaimer: this is coming from someone with 3 V16 toons and north of 400 CP, so not exactly a casual (but I also don't have 40 hours a week to grind because I have this other thing called a job).
