This is an amazing game. That being said, if someone pulls a bonehead move, they should expect to be called out on it, hopefully in a constructive manner. Constructive criticisms can help an already good game become truly epic. Sometimes designers and developers get tunnel vision or have a hard time seeing the big picture. Player feedback (even negative) can help with that.

This game will never be EPIC unless ESO gives me a Tsar Bomba, in a form of a skill or potion, to drop on EPs Zerg in PvP. Just incase you don't know; Tsar Bomba is the most powerful nuclear weapon that would totally destroy EP.

I read the forums a lot and I also read other MMO forums for games I play and like..... these forums are the least "toxic" of all the ones I read. Not only that but ZOS actually takes reads and considers the feedback they get from these forums to assist with changes to the game.

Says more about gaming communities as a whole to be honest.

I've taken part in a lot of gaming community forums and one thing that is glaringly obvious is that people with issues with the games tend to migrate to the forum and post more than they play, while those who are happy with the game spend more time playing than posting, making most gaming forums very negative places and not a very accurate representation of the games community.

I'm having fun in this game despite all the flaws/bugs. I'm enjoying myself and I'm around other players who're also enjoying the game, so the negativity on the forums is absolutely irrelevant to me.

If someone is too busy focusing on the negatives and absorbing all that in, only to attract and project more negativity then I'm sorry but you definitely need to get off this game and go and take a break. Simple as.

I agree with the OP but I really wish ZoS could figure out how to alphabetize their bank from A-Z by default instead of Z-A. I know, DIY, what's 10k clicks between friends! Actually I have gotten really good and finding things in reverse alphabetical order, so I have come to see it as a mini-brain game exercise, maybe don't fix it. BTW love the pumpkin head costumes!

You can change that in the inventory/bank window. Just click "NAME" and it stays A-Z, at least for me and I'm on PC.

Hey Erudition - I totally agree with the sentiment of your post.

I love this game and I'll be sorry when I've completed all the quests.
Yes, sure, I've had some of the weird stuff that effects gameplay until you know how to solve them but I still love the game.

The forums are full of complaints but there are very few threads of admiration and appreciation for the massive amount of really good stuff that we have in this game.

I started a thread 'If you're fed up...' and set the challenge for players to list the 10 things you love most about this game.
I did know that this would not be a fashionable choice!

14 people posted. 14 out of the thousands playing had anything at all good to say! Really?

What I don't get is this. If I buy a game and I think it's total crapola. I trade it in and move on. I don't play it for months, while hating it and complaining about it. Are all these people playing but not enjoying it at all?

I loved your 'killers for hire' post by the way! Fantastic idea and I wish I was on your server!

I think it's because people mostly love the game that they complain, otherwise they'd just trade it and move on.

Most folks complaining on here do so because they can see that with a few changes the game would be within touching distance of 10/10. They desperately want ZOS to make those changes and then get frustrated when they feel ignored. Because they can visualise how much fun they'd get if that final 10% of the game were fixed...they come on here and try and make it so.

If the game were just junk, then the forums would be empty and the game would have died by now. It's because it's almost the game people want that we keep on shouting at ZOS to at least acknowledge want the player base wants. Look how many posts there are on console text chat for example - because ZOS ignores these, people get frustrated.

It rubs it in even more when ESO live ignores the thousands of people asking the same 3 or 4 questions and choses to answer Player X's question about how long the menstrual cycle of a female Khajiit is

It says more about forums than it does about the game. Not just this one, all forums. Check out Reddit some time. All forums are toxic. I well remember SOE having to close down the general forum on EQ for a while a year or so after launch, it was just way too negative and abusive. It didn't say anything about the game which is still alive and well and into its 17th year.

Positivity can actually be more harmful than focused negativity. To clarify what "focused negativity" is. It is not saying "This game sucks" and walking away. I find that a lot of the positivity from a select few members of the community actually harms the game more than the overall negativity. The negativity is brought on by real problems with the game but those real problems get washed out by the over the top praise. I don't believe it's a bad thing to be negative as negativity has introduced quite a few good changes to the game while over the top positivity has done nothing but make someone feel good about themselves for a few minutes which I don't really care how the developers and co. feel. My money spent should be enough of a thank you.

I agree for open BETA stage 3 or 4 whatever...the game is perfect ! If they fix and balance races/skills/classes, technical issues like lag, server's packet loss, loading screens etc etc....it would the best game ever (after 3-4 years i guess)

This game is already 1.5 years in the market and still has many major bugs and issues! I can't be positive till they fix the basics at the very least

LOL the best game of its kind on the market *Facepalm* Have fun with that.

As for the negativity, people would not be as vocal with their displeasure of the current state of the game and its *** community if ZoS would have just kept doing the game rather than trying to fondle every *** that cried about dying to a dragon banner or wrecking blow. Much of their negativity is warranted and this is their outlet... for as much as it is allowed with the mods moderating every comment that isnt "allowed". Carebearing for the win! Dont worry Im sure your wish for everybody to be fluffy and kind about being fiscally and mentally *** by this game on a consistent basis will come to fruition in the near future.

First off I don't come to the Forums to kiss ZoS a**. If the game is working I'm playing it point blank. If a power kills me too much I slot a counter, and keep on playing. If that counter is pointless Forum time. When do game works people just play no need to have d*ck sucking and a** kissing, just enjoy it. People come here and even tab out of the game solely because something is wrong.

The first few months I don't care about the Forums I'm a hardcore TES fanboy with thousands of dollars worth the merchandise not including games. I was sure like all TES games the bugs whole be fixed and I would love the game this don't happen.

I'm enjoying the game, it isn't perfect by any means and no game is perfect since no matter how many bugs you fix in a game, there will always be another or more popping up. Video game development is pretty complex and there's always bound be something that goes wrong when coding a game, this is something that sadly can't be helped.
So to expect perfection when perfection can never exist is frankly unrealistic.

Despite the game's flaws though it's pretty fun and time consuming. I had my doubts about the game at first, after all a series that has been single player for so long getting an MMO? I'm still hoping for a new single player only Elder Scrolls game later down the line but for now ESO will do nicely.

People tend to complain for the sake of complaining, it's rare to ever see any praise. No game is perfect, be grateful they bother to keep trying even if they don't always communicate. It's hard work to make a game and maintain it.

So thank you to the developers, may the game improve bit by bit over the years to come.
