My friend says when he sees these he will quit for sure. Hates them.

He says it is like we are being boiled alive and feels like ZOS are slowly getting us used to more exotic and bizarre flare.

Just wondering your thoughts... Myself I don't particularly mind but I voted 1-2 because my friend doesn't use the forums

Doesn't bother me, there are far more immersion breaking things in ESO than costumes.

An MMO isn't a place to play for immersion, simply because you can't control everyone else playing with you.

Do Halloween costumes break your immersion?
Does it make the game look childish?
Do you think these permenant costumes will be a bit of fun? Or should they only last for the seasonal period?

Many swore we'd quit if the pay to win barrier was breached; yet many said cosmetic is fine but is this too far???

Halloween KIND OF exists in Tamriel.

It occurs on 13th Frost Fall and is called "Witches Festival"

Groot's aborted brother doesnt bother me.

Some people get too swept away with immersion, and lore, instead of just enjoying an MMO set in a the world of one of their favored RPG worlds. Lore needs to expand anyway, or at least the depth of that lore needs to.

i'd be interested to see why people think it is lore breaking? i only have played skyrim and only know the background around Nords and imperial and the grey beards and dragon born. what about traditions in the rest of tamriel, other factions and races and era's.

... probably spend my money elsewhere, not that it matters. The jack 'o lantern spriggan is, to me, ESO jumping the shark in terms of Crown Store costumes. I already have a number of ESO related purchases that are on hold while I wait to see what they are doing. Next move is theirs.

People said everyone would be wearing dresses in pvp as well. Some people are going to run around with these costumes for a few days then they'll get bored. Most people won't spend their crowns on it except maybe to add to their costume collection.

It is not "demonic" the Demonra is a race -- have rules of society and social order, aka Clans, They have crafters and stores. There is no lore books in any single TES games ( they are more canon then ESO is) talking about such a critter as shown in the picture and there is no mention of a "Holloween" events in TES lore books. They have other traditions instead and why they are not in game? Dunmer, Nord, Khajiit, Argonian, Altmer, Bosmer, Orc, Breton, Red Graud, Imperail, etc Where are the lore books that tell about normal races traditions? and why they are not shown in game? Why can't ZOS add that into BEFORE adding silly looking monsters to the game?

It is based to much on RL history. NPC like the pic is one aspect, may be, but for player chars -- that just ruin the game. It has no logic of why some many "normal" people will be turned into a monster. This is the same trap that RIFT fall into -- stupid mounts with no logic behind them, do not follow their own history or traditions. I walked away my maxed out char on RIFT and I do the same to ESO if ZOS starts adding items like this to game. I hate the fire, ice and lighting horse mounts. Where is the lore behind that? Show me the book in game that explains why there are so many on Nirn and why people are riding them? These are the same questions I have for the critter in the pic shown here.

BTW the argument is that this breaks lore, not immersion. immersion ≠ lore

How does this break lore? It of course depends on how you interpret lore and how well they try to integrate it into lore. As it stands with no background, it breaks lore because there have been no references to undead creatures fused with garden vegetables in the whole of TES history. They logically can't use the Daedric get-out clause that they used with Fire Horse, Frost Horse and Mind-Shriven Horse because Daedra do not have any direct connection to undead. There is no known way to combine nature magic with necromancy in such a way to produce this thing.

However, if we are going to say "where is the lorebook explaining X and Y in the game, where is the lorebook in the future games explaining the Planemeld? Where is the lorebook in Skyrim explaining riding dragons? Where is the lorebook explaining so many incarnations of The Vestige?

I say this as an avid RP'er as well as lore fan. This is not your lore. It is the lore of Bethesda and Zenimax to do with as they see fit. Do we have to like it? No, of course not. But ultimately, only THEY can say what is lore appropriate.

I find it ugly but others like it. I won't be buying one, but I will go for one of the skeletal mounts for my skeleton character to ride. I'm sure he'll have a rattling good time!
