I absolutely LOVE the hireling stories!

So I have the enchanter and clothing hirelings, for those who dont know its a passive in their respective crafting trees, which function as delivering materials to you once a day. But I just love the little developing stories that update with each letter. I wish to praise this of Eso as one of my favourite things to log into and catch up on. It sounds so silly but its an elegant thing that makes it slightly more immersive, like an off-screen penpal

Well recently my hireling was trying to pick between a khajit a nord and an argonian as assistants because everyone else seemed incompetent, she picked the khajitt because he said he would only take a SMALL amount of the profits.
The enchanter just sent me a letter apologising for being high on skooma during the last few letters.
Some of it is just gold.
Sometimes its just small updates, sometimes its funny ***.
I didnt expect to love this feature so much

Yeah I have it for provisioner and they are amusing.

They are sort of connected sometimes where a story will continue in subsequent letters. My guy lost his traveling companion once, and also told a story of being on a bender for a while. I always read them.

Back in the days, there were a lot of goldsellers that spammed peoples mails with hireling-like subjects, so by the time I got my hirelings .....I was used to those subjects and I didn't open any mails for a week or two. I thought they were spam from goldsellers xD

I wish we could get to keep those stories in a journal or something in the game. I stopped reading them because I mixed up all the stories from the different hirelings. I would like to have the option to read them from the start, so they make sense.

Please don't repeat any of the hireling stories. Effectively they are spoilers, I'd rather experience them ingame than read them on the forum. If you must please put contains spoilers in the thread title.

Yah they are cool but seem to run out. The one for blacksmith has sent me the same letter at least 20 times.

If they made all the hireling stories into a book... I'd buy it!

And yeah, of course they will run out eventually. Duh. So, enjoy it while it lasts! Some of them really are a blast to read... and you can always level an alt, and hire more hirelings to rerad them all over again I suppose...

Ahnab's bizarre self-obsession and strange things he gets up to are just incredible.

The time he got into a fistfigh sparring match with a Nord woman. by accident, and when he realized what was happening, he said "I booted her in the face, lest I be laid low."...

There aren't words for how amazing Ahnab is.

I think it was because I respec'd. Is there anywhere I can see the rest of his story, or will it cycle around to him again?

No, there are 10 hirelings, 2 per profession. They do not cycle back, and your progress through is locked to the character regardless of respecing the points. The only way to see the old stories again is to start a hireling on a new character.

I had 3 change in 1 day (the day the IC patch dropped) & as funny as Gavin or Ahnab can be, I dont read any of them anymore.

No more tales about Pacrooti or Plucky ruined it for me.

The thing that bugs me about no more Pacrooti is he would often say he hoped I wouldnt sack him to which I would mentally reply 'not a chance buddy'.
But I didnt get a choice in the matter


I'll try to screenshot all of Pacrooti's emails when I start woodworking on my lvl 6 Kahjiit.
