I heard that Bone Shards and Dark Ether give Willpower loot, and others are specific too, but then my friends contradicted it by saying that it's random since they've been trading each other trophies to whoever has the closest to 60 on whatever trophy, so what is the truth?

Do certain trophy vaults give certain kinds of loot, or is it really random?
