Tea bagging for all the wrong reasons

Its really funny to see both sides of this issue for once. I like open ended discussions. I see valid points on both sides of the tea cup, so to say. To me personally though, it doesn't make sense to want to simulate that kind of act right after you kill someone or your buddies kill someone. You got the kill, good for you? You don't really realize how far your head is up your own bum if you can't be objective about what you're doing, and the argument that it isn't really t-bagging is just silly, how can you expect anyone to take that opinion seriously. If you do it, with the exception of the poor person who legit didn't know what it was, you know what you're doing, don't lie ;D If one's ego is in that need of a tug, that they have to simulate behavior likened to monkeys in heat, when they do something productive in PVP, then I guess let them wear themselves out, let them, be the better person, even if its someone else's salt flavoring your mouth :(

I personally like the guys who t-bag me, then get jumped by the rest of my raid who were a minute behind me running to a keep. I get a rez, keep on going.. and.. they got.. what?

Where is the end game? You just played it.
Why don't I have 300+ skill points? Because you skipped content along the way.
    Where is new content? Sigh.

Had to Google for Nancy Grace to find out who it is. Seems like a very admirable person to me.

@Vangy : I understand what you mean and I respect your position which I find very valid. I personally don't think that debating in a forum thread is "making a big deal" . I know such practices cannot be eradicated, but it looks like I like lost causes ;-), I know that very few people might reconsider their behaviour reading this and a lot more people will not care (or even feel reinforced in their pride of playing "badass") but those were gonna do it anyway.
But you're right with your bottom line : if it happens, just ignore it.

@BatterStick : Can you please get amused silently ? Because you're not really bringing anything constructive or informative to the conversation.

To all who say "the problem is not with the offender but with the person who feels offended"... without further explanation, your position is purely rhetorical so I will not answer that.

One thing I like to do if I'm *really* angry in PvP is to turn werewolf and eat the corpse. My char is optimized as a werewolf and many players are not very experienced at fighting werewolves, so I often win those fights. And the opponent cannot ignore it since he/she will remain bright red for the next 10 minutes :D

Let me just tell you what happened 2 nights ago with one of my guildies (and she's a 30sthg grown up woman, teacher IRL, so not a kid and not some kind of oversensitive fragile soul). She went to IC with us, we were a small group. Unfortunately she was cornered in a 1v1 fight and we were too busy with mobs to come to her rescue on time. Against all odds, she won that fight and it happened that her opponent had 1K+ Tel Var stones, so she inherited all those stones. Few seconds later she received a ton of insults per whisp from this opponent.

Now she refuses to join any kind of PvP again, no matter how much we insist nor how much fun she actually had there. She simply says "I'm not playing this game to get insulted, nor to hurt people so deeply that they might react this way." (And don't tell me nor her that "she should... whatever" because she won't. She was deeply shocked by the violence of the opponent's reaction).

There's no teabagging involved in this anecdote but it shows the real cultural gap between PvPers and PVEers. I believe that bringing both populations together is good thing for everyone, but for it to be successful I think PvPers should adapt a bit and drop some of their most agressive practices, among others teabagging.

Hmm...Let me see if I've got this right.

PvPers should change their behavior for PvE players.

PvE'ers kill computer controlled targets. PvPers kill other players. One is predictable, the other....not so much.

Killing another player including every mob your friend killed to level, is violent.

Perhaps your friend shouldn't play a violent game full of aggression? Or perhaps change her status to offline when she plays...

Maybe you need to do a little bit of a self-check here. T-bagging may be virtual sexual abuse, but eating someone is virtual physical abuse (that apparently lasts for 10 minutes) and lets not get into an argument about the difference between the two because that would just be too beautifugly.

    Why not ?

Werewolves are part of the game, rapists aren't. Enough of a difference, isn't it ?
Second difference : nobody IRL has ever been devoured by a werewolf. It's pure fantasy. Many people suffer sexual abuse. That's not fantasy.
Third difference : From the game's point of view a werewolf kills his victims to feed himself, whereas the only point of a teabagger is to humiliate (and there's no "ingame point of view" for a teabagger).

Are we whiners or dictators ? Please make up your mind ;-)

Not sure it's been in every single game on the competitive side. Never seen a chess player teabagging (nor doing anything equivalent fur the purpose of humiliating). And believe me, chess is one of the most violent games on earth - though not physically.

Nor have I ever seen anyone in any sport or game IRL braggin victory by simulating non-consensual sex. This is pure internet culture, where people are soooo braaaaave... as long as they're anonymous behind a screen.

NB : I have a little reminder for you, too : it's "their", not "there".

When I get tea-bagged I know my mission was accomplished. Tea-bagging is more humiliating and embarrassing for the guy doing it. I sit there grinning, knowing that somewhere in the world there is some prat getting all flustered, angry and worked up at the game (probably shouting at the screen) at what I put him through. I achieved what i set out to achieve and that my friend was to; *** you the hell off.

I am in my early 40's and had a conversation with my dad about gaming being for kids and a bit immature for someone at my age to still be playing games.
I have justified this to him on numerous occasions stating that there are just as many kids playing games today as there are adults, even whole families get together and spend some quality time gaming, it's the new social family aspect.
This game carries a Rating category of M as set by the ESRB, this means that the content is for mature gamers of appropriate age, the suggested age rating is 17+

All I know after reading some of the comments on here about T-bagging being fun, I owe my dad an apology because there is nothing mature about it....

    LOL !
I wish there were an equivalent of "Godwin's law" for people resorting to "hunger in Africa" each time they run out of arguments. And another one for people who call others "no-lifers" for the very same reason.

It seems you also have really big concerns in ESO, such as "clothier writs will not complete" that "drive you crazy" ... :D

Regardless, and once again, if this thread is of no interest to you, just don't read it and don't participate. Simple as that.

What's your endgame here? Do you want Zos to remove the squat/unsquat function? Ban players for "teabag" violations?

I considered that option (point is very valid) but decided to express my thoughts nonetheless.
Firstly, because I don't think that talking about it makes it worse (people who teabag don't really need to be encouraged to do it, they do it anyway),
and second, because "shut up or it will get worse" is the sort of blackmail that I dislike.

As long as the thread remains courteous (and it has been so far, as least mainly) I think it's constructive.

I have never once in +18yrs of online gaming seen anyone in any game i've played t-bag in pve, pvp all the time, pve never.. well except for in Anarchy Online, but that was a game that had mobs called leets that used to call you noob, so it's kind of understandable lol.
Because in pve both players have to make emotes for that to happen in ESO, so they resort to other things, such as undressing and sticking their heads in other idling players private parts instead, do the /kick or /dishonor emotes and stuff like that.

Tbh. let children continue their tea-bagging. This is really only an issue, because you get offended by something that doesn't prohibit your gaming progression in any way. What is Zenimax going to do? Set a timer limit to get out of sneak mode, to prohibit tea-bagging?

This is a Buy2Play game, that means all players have payed money for access to this content. Zenimax will have lawsuits against them, if they put the banhammer on everyone who offended someone for using the sneak function or emotes.

5 pages.... 5 pages for this topic concerning video game characters crouching down repeatedly on other video game characters?

This is why we can't have nice things.

Honestly, it happens and it happens to everyone so deal with it and stop pretending that that the person doing it is some form of violent sex offender who gets off on forcing themselves upon you.

Bloody hell, I am more offended by seeing people getting so offended over it than I am of getting 'bagged because when that happens to me I giggle and respawn or wait for my mates to come slaughter them...

This thread should be closed, not because it's offensive but because it contributes zero to the community. Also, I found a thread on it after searching for 3 nano-seconds so the thread itself is already in breach of the forum rules for thread duplication...

May I ask what kind of "nice things" you're referring to and how this or equivalent threads prevent you from having them ?

I'm actually quite surprised at how upset people get when they feel endangered in their "freedom to teabag" ... I don't see such agressivity in any of the countless "nerf/don't nerf" threads. If it goes on like that we will soon have people using the 1st amendment of the United Stated to defend their "freedom to teabag" !! LOL :D

Oh, thank you sooo much ! I thought the other thread had been deleted, but I was wrong, it had only been closed. Well, for all those who wonder where from I know it's a reportable offense, well it's from that thread, so you can see for yourself.

I couldn't believe my eyes when the player started T-bagging me. All of the mob was still alive and killed him a few feet away when he decided to run. Not even mad, that was hilarious.
