getting killed all the time after the update yesterday

Ever since the update, I am killed easily.
AFTER THE UPDATE, MY POINTS WERE RESET AND I HAD TO RE ASSIGN ALL THE POINTS.
I am vet level 5 with level 13 champion points and before this last update could beat a level 7 opponent without much trouble.
Now I cannot kill even a level 2.
My weapons and spells barley effect the opponents anymore.
They hit me once or twice and I am dead.
It is so bad, I find the game unplayable and no longer any fun.

When I complained to ESO support, they told me to log out and back in. I tried this several times with no success.
I am now trying to get a refund from XBOX Live.

This is one of those examples of someone raging without research.

I would explain things but i can't be bothered go read patch notes to see whats changed.

Whatever was reset, I cannot kill even a level 2 anymore.
Why would ESO make a patch to make me weaker?
It appears I have my champion points but they no longer work.
What is the reasoning to reset all my points?
The game is no longer any fun.

Seriously though they reset them because they changed the abilities. Most people would be very upset if on their magicka build they had the new thunderous presence as an example.

As for you being weaker, I'm going to assume some of these changes did not favor your current build (unless mundus stone hasn't been re picked etc)
They did not favor mine either, however, I have built a whole brand new guy and im loving it. I in no way feel weaker now, I am however very very different

Hi Leepalmer,
I read the patch notes again
There is nothing I can find that addresses the issue of a weakened character.
I re assigned my skill points before I ever posted.
My champion points are still showing as there
I returned to the mage stone to re activate the blessing.

I am at a loss as how to proceed.
No further help from ESO support
XBOX support is trying to help but so far no improvement.

Crafted gear bonus's has been lowered, abilities have been changed, passives have been changed, re pick your mundus.

You don't need to start the game again, just pick a different build, dmg has been lowered all round.

lol you thought logging in and out several times would make your character stronger? Some people have needed to change their builds (not all, some). For example, now fights last longer and stats reduced, you might be having more issues with resource management than before so you could need to accommodate for that.

The LOL is that ESO support told me that would fix my problem.
That is why I am disappointed

My issue is that ESO would make an update which would cause the game to be impossible to continue.
I have been playing the game since first day release.
Some of us are not such high level gamers. I was doing ok to get to Veteran level 5 before this patch.
It usually took me at least two 10 hour days to get to another level. Champion points came faster.
Now I can get no further or finish any further quests.

Getting killed all the time is no fun.

You change all skills etc at shrines (like shrine of stendar sp?) They cost a bit but are worth it. They are in your factions main city. Im Ad so they are in gratwood.

My first re build was not what I wanted at all, (got freaking one shotted lol by the banekin handler) so I spent... around 11k re doing everything.

Only problem now is I gotta level a bunch of previously ignored skill trees.

I think that was what made me laugh the most. The fact ESO support would tell you to log in and out because you were getting killed more post-update.

Hi Bogdan and I sincerely thank you and all for responding so kindly.
I stand by my first post.
ESO has made the game harder with this update and it is no longer any fun.
To make us go through setting up our character all over with new skills which we do not even know how they work is ridiculous.
I have been resetting skills and champion points over and over just to go back and get killed again.
My armor has been trashed several times...I have to keep recharging my staff with grand gems
I have a level 5 destruction staff and it makes not a dent on a level 2 opponent now
Like I said......Not Fun.

I recommend you take a look at some YouTube videos on magicka templars.go to YouTube.com and search for a guy named Deltia. He has a number of build suggestions that might help you.

If you're having trouble surviving, try telling us some details of your build. We cannot see what you are doing.

Sometimes the changes to the game can feel unfair until you make that one change. For example, my vr14 magicka templar felt really weak all of a sudden after the PC patch the other night. I still am not where i want to be but i found that my Blazing Shield ability was actually HURTING more than it was helping!

So i adjusted my bar and tested. I found that I lived better by ignoring that shield completely and spamming puncturing jabs. But i still felt weak and my magicka was draining fast. So i laid down that magicka-regen and armor buff (last ability on the healing tree. .. forgot the name - on my phone and not @ home).

Like i said, i am still not where i want to be on survivability but at least i can take 2 - 4 mobs in IC quest areas now and at least survive most gank attempts from one ortwo players. Can't quite kill like i could two days ago but I'll get there.

When major patches come through the game, your build becomes more like a process for a little while than a solid set of abilities.

Try using YouTube videos to research builds but check the date the videos were posted! Don't listen to anything older than about 1 month... unless it specifically states something like "Imperial City".

A lot of big changes happened with this update. It is more probable than not a relearn to play issue.

If you would post your build and gear people might be able to help you more. We have a good community here and our beta testers, I mean PC gamers, have been running the changes for a while and might have some insight on how to change your setup to be more effective.

@trimhorn this isn't just a basic maintenance/intermittent patch.

This was a balancing pvp patch that has been a long time in the making.

Unfortunately this means that a lot of skills were changed and there has been a shift in the damage tables of the players and enemies.

This is not the first time that a sweeping change has come through the game and it most likely won't be the last.

That being said it's pretty par for the course in MMO's and having to relearn your character is something we all have to do when these changes are made.

What you did before doesn't really have any relevance to the present as it's not the same variables.

Hi Winterpsy,
I am Veteran Level 5 with +13 champion points in each discipline.
I can't even come close to beating a level 2 boss (not PVP)
I think it is a bit much for the DEV to make us go through all of the various options to get to the point where I can continue the game. there must be millions of combinations of talents and weapons.

My setup before the update was good, now it is useless.

NOT FUN!

What class and race are you? You say 13 champ points in each, but into which exactly?

What's your playstyle? Where are your attributes? What abilities do you use?

What I have gathered is a staff using vet 5 char. Maybe I can help, all depends on your class if I can

One of the big changes, is the removal of PvP buffs from PvE side. One could that encounter even before the patch if the home campaign that was set up for the character lost the match, losing keeps, scrolls etc.
The loss of the buffs was significant.

When going vet DSA we always set a buff campaign to Home, for the benefits.

I personally looking forward for this new set of challanges. Love learning newish stuff anew.

If Elder scrolls wants to make this game impossible for us with lesser abilities they should have posted a warning.
NOT FOR INEXPERIENCED or LESSER GAMERS. ONLY FOR PRO GAMERS
I cannot play PVP as I am not as skilled as others but at least I can chose not to play PVP.
I had no choice with this update.
I have wasted 79.00.
I cannot continue the quests to see the outcome of the story.

I had no issues with the original Elder Scrolls

didnt you forget to spent skill points on armor line?
check all your passives and stats points.
repair itens, check food.

high elf at vet 5 level
I wear heavy armour and have checked all the passives
level 50 destruction staff .,..all passives and upgrades
level 50 restoration shaft...all passives and upgrades

well wearing all heavy armor and using a staff is going to cause quite a few issues when it comes to maximizing your damage output.

Light armor is going to give you spell penetration and magic pools that will give you higher damage.

You say he is a vet 5 high elf, but what class?

Right off the bat your build reminds me of my previous one. Magicka and heavy armor, I used ward to make up lack of health.

It seemed to me, even with buffs + heavy armor my survivability was hampered. Im high elf sorc tank. When I came back I got one shotted by a boss that couldn't before hand.

I think what's gonna be proposed is that now you decide on what you want. More tanky or more dps, then go all out for that build. Aka light armor for Dps.

And hey, I actually went to a stamina sorc tank. Its doing very well, loving some of the new synergy. My edit racial passives are for magicka but I suppose that helps my few remaining magicka spells.

If you wanna sorc tank I can help you with all my experience. Other's are way more versed in DPS
