So I've started playing after downloading the patch and something weird is happening. Whats happeneing is that my max magic keep switching between 25k (which is the amount I had before the patch) to 21k without buffs or anything - is this a bug or has the patch changed something?

Any help would be appreciated :)

    more information is needed.

    What class?
    were you fooded / un-fooded?
Using necropotence? 10% max magicka pet passove?
    inner light ?
    Bound aegis?
Swapping gear sets? some have weird compatibility unless you re-log.
    undaunted mettle ?

    so yeah more info.

    class: sorcerer
    unfooded
    inner light

Inner light is the only ability I have slotted that could increase my max magic and I can't use bound aegis because its not gonna fit the build I'm running so thats a no. In terms of gear I'm just using gear that boosts my max magic, at the moment I've wearing magnus and curse eater and I was gonna use the suducer set instead of because that seems to benefit me more than curse eater.

I'm not sure what necropotence is so thats a negative, and same with undaunted mettle. I'll see what happens when I relog and I'll try swapping sets around.

*I messed around for a bit and it only happens when I go to Cyrodiil, once I go back to a pve zone my max magic goes back to how it was. Am I right in thinking this is some sort of balancing thing going on?

    Daedra summoned vs not summoned?
Winged Twilight in area, vs not?
Power level to CP160 in a week:
Where is the end game? You just played it.
Why don't I have 300+ skill points? Because you skipped content along the way.
    Where is new content? Sigh.

There is Battle Leveling with Cyrodiil, and you are, or were, given a boost to your attributes when in that zone. So, perhaps something might not be working right with that mechanic. You can try the Clear Cache and relogging to sort it, but that may not help.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

You get buffs to your stats when you enter cyrodiil, and you loose then when you port out of there. They did this to balance out the level gap between lowlies and max levelled players in pvp.

I see what you are saying but its the opposit for me, instead of me having my stats boosted when entering Cyrodiil they seem to get lowered.

Actually, this is precisely what happens. You are probably below V14. With the equipment you have, you achieve 25k magicka outside of Cyrodiil.

Once you enter, the battle scaling is applied, generalizing your magicka pool to 19k, plus the racial bonus plus the inner light bonus, voila, 21k.

Check your stamina (should be 19k without food or racials) and health (should be around 28k without food or racials). Battle scaling does not necessarily mean an increase in stats, if you specialise strongly, it may quickly become a Buff in unwanted stats and a debuff in your main stat.

You can prevent that from happening by disabling battle acaling in your options, but bear in mind that this will make you potentially lose armor, spell resistance and base stats to render you unviable in Cyrodiil.

oh wow I didn't know you could toggle battle scaling, I've just turned it off and I've only really noticed a slight decrease in spell and physicial resistence. Thanks alot for pointing that option out :)
