Were stealthed jumping and the other physics changes intentional?

The new inability to jump more than a well mowed blade of grass while in stealth, if deliberate, is a foolish and necessary nerf to stealth for the whole player base - if it is another bug then it needs fixing.

My money is on bug as I have noticed several other physics type problems since IC landed.

- Horses are once again having issues with mild inclines from time to time - not half as bad as it was last time but also annoying.
- Occasionally while using a skill (Steelnado is the obvious one) I will suddenly move several dozen metres at the sort of speed a sorc streaks at in the direction I was moving at normal speed before (I am not a sorc!).
- Jumping, when not in stealth, has become random - sometimes I get a normal jump, sometimes I will randomly bounce of things and go off in an odd direction as if gravity had been reduced in that area.

All very odd.

    It's a bug.... specifically with snares. (stealth is also a snare) We're working on a fix.

    Saddly the stealth jump changes are bugs they said so on ESO live yesterday ( 9/11/2015 ) that it is a bug and they are working on fixing it saddly. Cause me personally I like it cause it means players have to think about a retreat instead of popping a cloak and jumping up the side of a building.

    Characters cannot climb. They get hung up on anything larger than a pack of cigarettes. The only way over obstacles is to jump. To make matters worse, collision planes are low friction, meaning that they also slide along the suface, making jumping prone to failure due to the difference between the surface we can see and the surface the character collides with.

    Until characters can reasonably climb, which should be allowed in stealth, we need to be able to jump.

    At first I actually thought that it is intended to make sneaking in IC harder, getting over obstacles more difficult but then it started to annoy me pretty quickly and made me wonder.

    Also I for some reason love to jump before I dismount a horse, now it just slows me down so I'm glad it's a bug.

    I have also had numerous bugs where I cannot attack something that is on the same height as I am (or perhaps 1-2 feet difference) with ranged attacks, yet they can attack me. This is quite common in the IC sewers and IC above ground areas. I've died several times to mobs because of it when playing solo there.

    Semi retired from the trading aspects of the game.

    But your own ground level with the player and not ontop of roofs like most others want to do you know batman wanna be.

    If my stamina doesn't regen while I am blocking, I truly do not understand why a stealthed player should be able to jump over a storage box. I think they should leave it as it is working now personally.

    Disagree. How exactly are you supposed to stealthily climb a tree, or a ladder, or a rockface. The minute a 'stealther' leaves the shadows and starts going vertical.. well, lets just say she has to time it right to avoid unwanted suspicion and can not rely on lurking in the shadows, she had better get that obstacle cleard quickly cos this is risk time.

The minute a 'stealther' leaves the shadows and starts going vertical.. well, lets just say she has to time it right to avoid unwanted suspicion and can not rely on lurking in the shadows, she had better get that obstacle cleard quickly cos this is risk time.

    It is not like they have spot lights on every tree, ladder and rock face. Of course you can climb all of those things if they are somewhere that is concealed. In ESO, it is akin to standing and announcing you are there. But, then that is what happens anyone tries to quietly open a chest or pick a flower.

    i would be more understanding if this didn't effect PVE as well but sadly any changes done to the game won't just effect one aspect of the game play but both

    not stealth jumping but they've also made my character stop for a brief second upon casting certain abilities such as combat prayer, energy orbs etc.
    I used to be able to keep running (not sprinting!) flawlessly while casting those abilities left and right but now I always have to stop for 0.5 seconds every time I cast them, and frankly, it's a little annoying. (yes I've made up the number, I haven't timed it or anything)
    MAAAAAAYBE I'll get used to it but why the change, I don't know.

    one good thing about this patch is they're letting us cast front conal skills like jabs, combat prayer etc at the direction your camera is facing, not the direction your character is facing. thank you for THAT change zos.
    now, if I could get the lost mobility back, that would be goooood...

    Agreed but the NB QQ would flood the forums again.

    NB's are not the only ones affected by this, FYI.

    In fact, NB's are the least affected class, since they can just use double take and still jump over stuff like champs.

    Glad they know it's a bug and the PC beta...er players caught it. Hopefully it won't make it into console. In PvE I stealth through quest zones. Dropping out of stealth to jump over every little bump and pebble is bad.

    In Cyrodill dropping out of stealth is not bad, it's death. I appear for a moment and it's like "oh look a hit point bar without a shield," bam dead. I know cause I aim for the hit point bars without shields (or bat wings) :smiley:

    Well you could drop into a Shadow Claok and climb up the tree, rest your bow the tree pull out a sweet roll and wait for the stealth rager.

    Obviously the stealthed jumping is one aspect and the snare thing makes a sort of sense but...

    How about the mad shooting around, bouncing off walls and rocks in odd ways and so on? At first I thought it might be client/server stuff but my guildies confirmed that it was visible to them too when we were taking a keep last night - ran in to the upper flag, threw a steelnado while moving and just flew right across the room, careened off the stair case and flew up about 10 metres into the air and then landed the other side. No fall damage death thankfully!

    Something in the physics has been changed somewhere.
