bet it was bangkorai zone Crash. everytime a mate or I wanted to tp there, we were kicked from Server Prior to it being taken down.

@ZOS_GinaBruno regarding your question on loading Screens: they are below 5 minutes now, but 5 minutes of a 30 minutes 5k Gold exp-potion is quite some huge time taking into consideration for most quests in cyro you have to Zone in AND out, what makes up to 10 ... get it?

they should of at least given more than 5 min notice. People were in the middle of things only to have to redo it when rebooted.
zos cant seriously say that they diligently gave us as much notice as possible.

It's not as easy as that, for all we know it could have been a serious issue that if it hadn't been restarted immediately may have cause server crashes that could damage the database and lose us hours or days of gameplay. For example some years ago in Dark Age of Camelot there was a server issue and they delayed restart because of it happening in prime time, not only did we have hours of horrible lag but eventually the server crashed, wiping the database meaning they had to install the last backup which was three weeks old, people lost weeks of work and even whole characters that could not be restored.

So while ideally it would be great to have more notice, sometimes it just can't happen.
And I'll bet the people moaning about them daring to take the server offline immediately to fix an unexpected server-side issue would probably be totally fine with it if they delayed fixing it and this was the result, right?

It goes to show that there are some people who will complain about literally anything and everything.

    speculate all you like

it goes to show those that follow by faith alone will blindly defend that which they do not know
No, it goes to show that people who don't understand server technology shouldn't make uninformed comments about what is and isn't reasonable for a company to do when things go wrong...

To be clear, this is not a patch - just a server reboot. And we're not expecting any rollbacks.

Thanks for staying on top of things.

Hopefully this will have helped fixed a lot of the issues causing Bufferbloat for everyone, and thus causing unresponsiveness and lag.
Far too many characters to list any more.

Thanks for the information and keeping us updated Gina. Much appreciated.

As you are already here, can you say something about possible race changes and their development status in todays ESO live episode, please?

@ZOS_GinaBruno as you're active oh this thread, can you confirm that the long loading screens are a known issue and you're working on a fix, or are they here to stay? There doesn't seem to be any info regarding this.

It is a known issue, and we've been investigating. We did implement a small fix in Monday's patch that should have helped begin to decrease the length from when IC was first published.

Okay, didn't notice any change personally, but thanks for letting us know you're working on it.
I noticed a bit of a difference. Load screens are still long, but I haven't had any last over 5 minutes since last week (last week I was experiencing 5-7 minute load screens on a semi-regular basis).

That's about on par from what we're seeing as well. Is anyone still getting actual 5+ minute loading screens?

nothing past 4 minute, except for when i let the coocked.cashe remake it self on startup. but that always takes a little bit of time. not during normal loading screens

OMG 1 hour down time... that's it! I've had IT! I quit! I'm serious this time!

No it doesn't matter that I'm at work and had no idea this happened... totally unacceptable that an online server hosted game would ever need any kind of maintenance that wasn't scheduled at least a year in advance!

I have had another issue where if you go into a loading screen, and alt tab out, if you dont return sharpish the game will become non-responsive, You can tell if this has happened because the logo in the bottom right stops spinning completely. At ths point all you can do is re-boot the game. This issue never happens if i dont alt-tab out of a loading screen though. Roughly my loading screens last at worst, 1m 30s. But they use to only last 15-20 seconds.

This also happens to me. If I Alt-Tab away from ESO while waiting for a loading screen, when I come back the game will lock up.

it seems, at least as of the last 2 hours, that the intermittent framerate and lag spikes are back...it feels like the exact same issue with the server.
