I'll go back to silently dying whenever my teams forces get overwhelmed & i, despite healing them beyond death numerous times, giving them stamina & reviving, am the one who has to die because sorcs bolt escape, nb's instantly stealth & dk's tank/reflect incoming damage.
Whilst templars die in 1 hit to:
- Dawnbreaker
- Meteor
& die in 2 hits to:
-Any NB
-Any Sorc
-Anyone with a bow
-Anyone with Wrecking Blow

Sounds like a l2p issue to me. I spend more time PVPing on my Templar than any other character, and while the being stuck in combat is annoying, I get by just fine. Also, I've killed many sorcs, NBs, bow users, and wrecking blow users with no problem. I've even survived and won stealth ganks from bow wielding NBs.
And let me be clear, I am by no means a good PVPer. I would say that I am average at best, but still don't run into all these issues you seem to be having. Maybe you want to play around with a new build, or at least try some different skills or gear if you are having such a hard time playing a temp.

It's also not just a PvP situation so it prevents other unintended results like...ya know...cheating.....Logging out after healing to relog and avoid dying only to Rez and keep the group progressing via team speak or console voice chat.
Edit: typos galore
Hmm, I'm not sure how you would consider spelling things the same way as the country that invented the English language to be "odd spelling", but pretty much every country in the world that is primarily English-speaking is that way because of the British. The USA is the only one I'm aware of that spells things without the British U (I'm not saying there aren't other countries that use the American spelling, but I'm not aware of any others that do - I know we definitely don't here in Canada).Moonscythe wrote: »
My dictionary says it is British. If more people spell that way it's because the British spread themselves over the world strewing odd spelling. I, personally, while American, spell may words with a British "U" but, it's still British.

Im surprised that people would try these tactics but i guess it happens. Surely a better balance would be damage takes the same time penalty as healing - since currently healing leaves you walking with no chance to mount, far longer than simply dps.
EDIT: 2 options-
- Watch you're team die & use a soul gem so you can still use your mount.
- Heal and be unable to mount for the next 1-3 mintutes.

I have to imagine that being unable to mount while in combat is there to ensure that anytime you choose to stop and engage an enemy or assist an ally your committed to that choice. If healers and other support roles could just mount up and move all over the battlefield buffing and healing as they please, that would probably just end up creating a whole lot other issues.
The restriction does have a purpose. True that they could stand to tweak the time it takes to officially be considered out of combat after a fight but I wouldn't want them to do away with it all together.
I suppose you could petition ZOS to implement some form of mechanic so that once you've managed to have gotten a reasonable distance from an enemy player without taking damage for ten or so seconds you'll no longer be flagged as in combat even if someone you gave a quick heal to may still be fighting.

A great suggestion with great attitude.
Personally, i demand such basic & obvious game mechanisms. Such should be active at launch. Lack of said ideas destroy the community aspect of a long awaited game when noones actually playing because certains devs are worse than useless. Or perhaps i'm wrong & so was the 7/10 rating.
Significant sums of money were spent creating this game. I'd like to think that it created more than the smoke you see during the menu screen.
