Because it's one of the base design features of the game to not give all players fair and equal access to the economy. It is intended that you be at the mercy of guildmasters who have unquestioned and unsupervised power over you, or (equally bad option) you can create your own guild and have the same kind of power over others.

I do understand. If you had trading threads you could avoid the guild system. They don't want you to avoid the guild system.
