CC has become a major aspect on how to make PVE content challenging and rewarding in most games these days particularly your MMOs. when done right it can be very rewarding and improve gameplay. The balance in PVP though is always hard. i don't think it is so bad in theory in ESO but some bugs in practice with CC immunity and CC breaking are making it more of an issue than it should be

my main annoyance is i still don't know if its a problem with all consoles/my console/controller or is it behaving just how it is meant to be. I can instantly dodge roll out of a root. But CC break seems to take time before i can activate it. And not a fixed length of time it is different depending on the stun, or its just not registering that im trying to CC break. i can spend a few seconds CC locked spamming break. Enough time for 2 insta cast abilities. You cant expect that sort of CC downtime with a TTK that is still present in 1.6/consoles without annoying a few people.

Know what has loads of action? Fighting games! Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Soul Calibur, the works!

    Even they have CC.

I don't really like or play fighting games.

Yet Dark Souls was one of your favorite games?
That game is mortal combat on crack. I bet you rage/quit every time people like me slammed you with a Parry/Reposte!

I was ungodly and made Paryy/Reposte/NoNo gesture/Finsher a thing before it was a thing lol.
Anything useful that players are wanting added into the game all fall under the category of "Yer ruinin my 'mersion!" Sallington

Is that large AoE CC "Desecrating Ground" new since the last update? I've never noticed it before, and it's most likely one of the most annoying PvE ones I've seen, ever. If you're AoE grinding zombies you best watch out. I got caught inside 3 large overlapping circles of this crap. My movement was so slow I was almost walking backwards while archers stuck me like a pin cushion.

I wouldn't mind it if cc breaking and cc immunity actually worked ever

Not really, I never got in a position to be parry reposted, if you time your attacks right even the broken Monastery Scimitar can't kill you. Parrying wasn't as op in DS1 compared to DS2. Anyway, I don't really count that as CC, it's an extended damage animation imo.

Good for you and your incredible Dark Souls skills. Let me send a gold medal in mail.

    You. Can. Block. CC.

Except for the ones Nightblades use... and almost everybody (except me) is a Nightblade now!

I'm on PC and I can agree CC Immunity and CC break are broken as ***.

    I don't think it's your controller?

As for the latest IC patch CC Immunity is even more broken than usual.

Uhh... isn't troll baiting forbidden by forum rules?
How's this troll baiting? I'm trying to have a discussion about game design, if anything your comment adds unconstructive and needless aggro to a perfectly sensible thread.
If you don't want that, there is a whole genre that caters to what you apparently prefer, called first person shooters.
Wrong, even FPS games have cc. Most commonly in the forms of grenades (concussion/flash) they are the very definition of crowd control, that is their purpose.
I am an old-fashioned guy in that aspect. Quake/Quake II had no CC and were the epitome of FPS genre.

So am I, but the times and standards have changed, sadly. Doom2 is still one of my all-time favourites.
    Sometimes, I dream about...cheese...

Dermont - v16 Pompous Altmer Sorcerer (With a very arrogant face!)
Egonieser - v16 Nord Stamina Dragonborn Wannabe
Endoly - v16 Tiny Redguard Sharpened MaceBlade
Egosalina - v16 Breton Cheesus Beam Specialist
Egowen - v16 Dunmer Whipping Expert (Riding crops eluded her)
(Yes, I had to grind all these to v16)
Akamanakh - lvl 22 Khajiit GankBlade (Inspired by Top Cat)
Targos Icewind - lvl 34 Imperial (Future) Jabplar
    (CP 830+)
