BUG? Transliminal Violet dye is gold

A screenshot of the "Tainted Turquoise" dye from White Gold Tower dungeon versus the "Transliminal Violet" dye from the world event at center of sewers. As you can see, colors are quite similar in the little preview square. Once applied, though, the violet is a bright gold. It is a very nice dye, but not even remotely violet!

all the violets are actually a different color. The achievement to do every vet dungeon without a death is chrome blue and the violet you get for doing the middle boss in IC sewers is just a slightly darker chrome blue. Yet the icons for the colors are actually violet when you go to select a color at the dye station

Dyes are notoriously unpredictable, looking differently on different types of armor, but this is excessive. A bug probably?

It turns purple in the light. It's kinda like a chameleon paint job on a car, and it's pretty cool

Try it on Light Armour - nice violet colour.

Awesome on medium and heavy - prepare for a lot of admirers!

It's a purple/gold, stand in different light and see it change. Looks awesome on light armor.

I am wearing a heavy Xivkyn helm and medium chest piece of the same style. The first week I wore it with the Transliminal Violet, which gave everything a golden shiny sheen that was the most prominent gold I've seen in game so far. The colors would occasionally turn a deep violet blue in place of the gold, and eventually revert back to the shiny gold. For 3 consecutive days now I've been stuck with this deep violet blue and it's not reverting back to gold. Does anyone know how to effect this Transliminal Violet dye on the armor?

I'm starting to wonder if something changed in my graphic settings...

Hope someone has figured it out. I didn't want to make a new thread although the existing ones don't explain how to affect the dye either.

It doesn't change nearly enough. I've noticed that in most places it's just gold, I guess because of the way it reacts to light. Needs to change under more lighting conditions.

i thought it wast purposefully purple/gold pearlescent. or that whole visual phenomenum like blue/black white gold dress is happening. which i doubt.

I use it quite often as a gold trim on armor.

It's a Pearlescent paint I think it's Zos dig at the aforementioned two tone dress.

Kudos to them if so, if not I'd hope they'd take the credit anyway.

This dye might be playing the same game on your brain, changes depending on the light. Deep violet with a golden shine? Very special.

It's a beautiful colour(s), sometimes called 'colour-flip'. My mother had a bed cover made of shot silk which did the same thing - in some angles it was green, and in others, crimson.

This dye does react differently depending on what it's applied to - different properties on the base armour affect it in lots of different ways.

I was delighted to get this dye and all my characters wear it in varying amounts.

Oh, delighted I was too dear AlienSlof. Until my gold left and never came back. Did your moms carpet do that?

What we have here is not a case of mere color flipping. I've been permanently robbed of my gold, Sir.

Mine still constantly colour-flips, though on some materials, it's one or the other only.

And I'm not a sir.

Sorry for assuming you were, that was very sexist of me.

But, back to my missing gold. Just imagine you had full gold armor most of the time, and then it just disappears completely for three days. I may legitimately lose sleep and/or start drinking again if this doesn't get reconciled post stat!

The color of this dye is highly dependent on where you apply it.
Actually I have it on all three slots on my medium bosmer armor and it shows three different colors.

I really, really, like it.

edit: it shows blue, gold, and almost black

With all due respect Jitterbug, we have repeatedly established these traits. It does not however explain why I once had all gold armor from this dye (that would occasionally flip to blue), and now it has been permanently stuck on blue for days on end.

The armor sets/types/pieces were not altered.

Here is a practical example. Take a look at the Molag Kena shoulder in the picture, it's gold from Transliminal Violet at that moment. That same shoulder has been blue for at least 3 straight days now, never once returning to it's former golden glory.
