Which class is good for PvP, PvE and is also fun?

I'm a level 17 Nord DK and I'm not convinced I like it. It's for solo but I thought definitely the best class when I created it. Since I've been playing pvp I've started to really like it but nearly everybody is a sorc and uses ranged attacks. Me having nearly no ranged attack, I have to get up really close and die loads even on non veteran campaigns. Obviously I haven't seen all of DK and it might get better at end game. I was wondering if I should stay DK or change to maybe sorc or NB I've heard they are the only 2 good ones in pvp and pretty good solo as well. And also if I should change, what race and build.
