I am not happy with this DLC... I need some reassurance and cheering up.
All the enemy NPC's have been standardized which is good i guess but it worked out that they all got a rather significant buff.
Generic PvE gear nerf across the board what the hell!, i lost like 450 spell dmg, not impressed. From what im reading on the forums stam DPS are even unhappier and pvE tanks have more or less given up.
The crafting is terrible... Not only is crafted gear under-powered compared to dropped gear but making a v15 staff costs 12 wood while a v16 costs 120 .. AND deconstructing anything V15-V16 gives ONLY 1 base material. why craft! expensive and not worth while.. /cry
And the biggest one for me is that if you want the better gear you are FORCED to PvP with that equipment sitting behind a paywall (purchase DLC).
In other more neutral news, did anyone find a V15 grind spot for champion points? , cause im starting to suspect V15+ was just a stop gap for CP grinding.
ugh... I might need a break from this game come back in a month or two..

Can't you buy the crafted or looted gear from someone else, with maybe gold or other trade-able goods?
Now if you want one of the 6 sets that requires TV stones, then yes, you'll have to get the DLC or subscribe.

There are 12 new sets that drop in the new dungeons. But, they are bind on pickup. You will not be seeing these sets for sale unless that changes.
I did purchase the DLC just for the record.
Having access to the DLC gear requires the dlc is a no-brainer, i get it..
but the point is that the strength difference between the "normal" gear and the "DLC" gear is like 33% THAT IS VERY SIGNIFICANT.. So much so that remaining competitive requires the DLC.
Really is not fair for those players that mainly PvE and maybe did not buy the DLC.
Let me ask you, would you run a PUG pledge with a player who did not have any DLC gear? knowing that are at least 1/3 weaker than you?

Do you need the gear from the DLC to complete the current PvE content?

The bold is untrue. If you want the best gear you are FORCED to PvE. The TV stone gear sucks for the most part.

Interesting perspective, can to share what you mean by this because aside from the willpower/agility/ endurance set the imperial city sets are like i mentioned earlier about 33% better then the crafted and old world sets.
are we both experiencing the grass is always greener symptom?
Wow thanks Missbizz that actually did cheer me up some.. ty ty ty
Give it a week or two and the market will slowly fill up with gear and mats acquired in IC, from there the prices will only come down making it a lot easier to buy or craft what you want
