Loading screens, a simple math

My systems is i7-3930K running at 4.6 GHz, GTX 770(updated with todays drivers), 2000 MHz memory speed, Intel SSD.
Loading a zone takes 1:00 - 1:15 minutes. From 18-20 seconds before IC update.
So...best case as follows:
8 characters, all hirelings = 8x1 = 8 minutes
Twice a day 2x8 = 16 minutes
One more relog to each for writs = 16+another 8 = 24 minutes. Each char uses at least two zones, so 8 more minutes = 32 min
One more relog to all VR14s for dailies = 32+8 another = 40 minutes.

Conclusion - I'm going to stay 40 minutes(best case, no additional relog, no crashes, no other travels here and there) stairing at the boring screens, just to do my daily stuff. No additional fun included.

I give it two weeks to find me a way to fix it. Otherwise I'm done with this(I'm pretty done already after stamina regen nerf).

Yep since the new update long load times and its everywhere not just Cyrodiil or IC. This is always the case with a new major update.

Yeah, loading seems about twice as long as it was. Both my bro and I have this issue.

Just to add, no add-ons involved.

FGS, I spent 2200 EURO on Alienware new laptop to be able to play while on leave to US. Seems it ain't gonna happen and money wasted.

Even with an SSD the loading screen are the worst of any game I have ever played in 2015...this and the looking for group tool being broken forever now are the biggest time wasting mechanics in ESO, almost makes the game not worth playing.

Fix these two things ZOS and almost the entire community will see the benefit and may even increase the amount of people playing the game on a regular basis.

Loading times are a lot worse after this update. I can understand just after logging in as the game parses everything. But, it is a huge amount of time on daily activities. I started my Mule log at 5AM this morning, finished it at 5:30 (short bio break during one log, so call it 25 minutes elapsed time) Then it took me another 40 minutes to do writs on 5 characters (2 just do provisioning, 3 do all the Consumables and have the stuff made already in inventory)
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Ah, and my favorite! Just the cherry of the cake!
When one of your hirelings bcs God know what reasons doesn't kick with the other, you have to relog or zone out AGAIN.
My lifespan is limited, my patience(already, after the consequent epic fail of some untalented developer) even more.

Yep, i have a high power system in all aspects and games and windows are on 2 seperate high speed SSD's (Samsung EVO 850) and the loading times are terrible. I mean ffs, it used to load faster on a standard 7200 RPM hdd before IC went live.
Not to mention now i get crashes every 30 minutes or so. Someome done fkd up this time..

My SSD has a 2,000+ MB/s read speed. Load screens shouldn't bea problem, yet they're not taking me upwards of 5 minutes. I'm never quite sure if I'm lagging out (the infamous load screen of death) or it's just taking me a really, REALLY long time to load.

But these load screens are REALLY starting to frustrate me.

Something is seriously messed up with the server code.

It doesn't seem to be server side only(if it has something to deal with servers at all). I logged in most dead time of the day, 5:00 GMT and still getting approx. 1 minute load time. it was same on PTS, where population is nowhere near population on live servers. I assumed there might be some debug code left in PTS client and I let it go, hoping it will be fine on live. It turned out not to be the case, obviously.

Its been a month, and its still an issue. Shame on you guys.
You are wasting EVERYBODIES time, tens of thousand of ppl, continuously, every day, not just me.
I refuse to stand it anymore. One of my character is stuck in Sewers, bcs loading screen never ends. Its for second time and I cant bare it, sorry.
After being uncompetitive in PvP with my DK(there is a long thread about it), after you make me to grind mats brainless for hours(not 2-3, but tens and more) to gear ONE character(I have SIX VR16s, all done all quests, including Cyro PvE and are Undaunted 9), after recent nerf of glass motif fragments drop(yeah, there is, I receive 3 times less fragments from one week on) , after Cyrodiil is empty, the only thing I can do is either stop playing or unsub to show my frustration. Bcs I love the game too much and I invested 400 days /played approx., I'll stay around for a while, but unsubbed.
I'm totally losing interest, bcs all my devoted PvP friends stopped playing, having same issues as above.

Seriously, ZOS guys, take you ***** together and fix the bugs before anything else. Im not playing the new content you released, bcs of the bugs. Whats the point adding it, eh?

Just two examples how bad it looks on my side - wth, if Imp city is not gated, we have to wait two loading screens until we even get to sewers. One more to the districts. Three minutes. No, ty. And the other one - do you know how playtime is compared to loading screens, if you are doing quest at Thizrinni arena? its like 1 part playtime, 3 parts loading time.

I was going to brag long ago, why we have to wait 10 bloody seconds at save areas to log off, like Belkarth, any of Cyro gates and most funny, front part of the Rhawl'ka bank room, but that would be nuisance wait, compared to the "dead" time we are getting now. Still consider this as possible improvement, as most developed characters, especially now doing writs, are stationed in Belkarth.

And no, no one will have my things if I decided to leave

P.S. And also, why da hell we cant port out of Sewers to any place, as exiting it, leads us to another save area(alliance gates)? And, OFC, another one minute loading screen until we reach desired destination outside of Cyrodiil.

'slong as the cash pours in from sales of the glass motiff(LOL) they won't do much about this. The way they see it, the LONGER your logged in(Even if staring at loading screens) the more they win.

Sadly, i am not sure they care, since I joined the game, its just been getting worse and worse(the first month or two was great, since then not so much) I feel as if they are just trying to cash grab before the servers population drops to below profitable levels.

The issue is not your system it is the volume of information you are asking it to process.

Set the following settings and you will see no visual difference and better load times.

View distance: 70 (everything processed after 70 distance is prerendering - you won't see it)
Shaders: High (on ultra, shades load in a radius around you. On high, shaders only load in a cone in front of your camera angle)

Reducing the main texture setting to medium will also remove the need to load base textures that are under the surface textures but you will notice a difference in texture quality.

You should also consider adjusting your nvidia settings.
You may specifically want to look at the settings that dynamically reduce texture quality of distant objects (LOD balance etc).

Attempted fixes, saw no change at all in load times(my test from char select screen to loaded ingame, it was actually faster PRE 'changes' than after, but only be 1 second) tested each from 'fresh' launch of game 3 times.

When friends and customers ask me to craft gear with 9 traits I'd jump on my crafter and be like sure man. Now I groan and cringe and tack on a 10k wasting my time logging in out and warping to craft location loading screens fee. Worst part is they are willingly paying that fee because no other crafters are putting up with this bull.

Cathhexis, its not my job to adjust something which worked before. And it seems like no solution as no one from the staff has suggested it yet.
Sure, I'll try, altho I'm almost certain it doesn't worth the efforts.

As for crafting, I do and feel the same. And I deliberately moved all the gear crafting profesions on one char, bcs of the pain of loading two different.

    P.S. Doesn't work, same 1 minute.

Change 1 major video setting and wait for 8minutes in a load screen. I have an SSD too. I feel like i'm downloading a whole freaking zone everytime i travel somewhere. This reminds me of those old PC/PS1 games..."Do I really want to enter that house and incur the load screen?...there's probably nothing in there anyway".

I've already quit the game with these loading screens. This is thousands of hours of their customers' time they're wasting, and worst of all there's been almost zero recognition that there's even a problem. When that happens you can be sure they don't have a clue what the issue is and there will be no fix anytime soon, if ever.

While I'm peeved on these loading screens, they have acknowledge that this is an issue. The fix to this is more complicated, they said this in last ESO live with rich Lambert. So to say they have zero recognition, you are wrong. I just hope they fix it sooner.

This loading screens issue is the most dangerous and game-breaking thing at the moment and I truly hope it is their absolute number one top priority.

However, I've always considered LFG tool fix to be a crucial and absolutely necessary tool in an MMO and that it should always have been among their top priorities too, and it looks like it's never been, so I don't know what to think or hope for anymore.

Thanks, I don't watch ESO live, only visit the forums where there has been very little talk about the loading screens from the devs. Still, "this is more complicated" tells me all I need to know; A fix isn't coming anytime soon.

I just logged on my 1st player to do daily writs. It took me 54 seconds to log him on. Then it took me another 24 seconds to go to the zone to drop the writ quest at. Then another 32 seconds to come back to the zone he is homed in, (writ zone has no bank yet for him), and finally another 31 seconds to log off. That is 141 seconds I believe. Almost 2.5 minutes. My other players have to go to Belkarth which takes even longer to load... so that is at least 20 minutes in looking at load screens, just to do daily writs. This is bull$h!t

Oh, and I almost forgot... this doesnt even include that every 2nd or 3rd time I try to log in another player, the log on screen fails and I have to end the eso.exe task and start over again... the tri-dargon circle at the bottom right just stops spinning eventually, and the only thing you can do is stop the game process in Windows. Relogon and attempt again. That takes at least 5 min to go through all that. That happens several times a day, switching players.
